Research On The Protection And Renewal Of Public Cultural Space In Jianshui Historic City Based On Cultural Gene

People’s cultural consumption has been on the increase as the social wealth accumulates.People shift the hotspot of cultural tourism from conventional attractions to culture-rooted historic city resorts.As an important spatial carrier of historic city tourism,traditional cultural public space embodies both historic and resident culture.However,it is noted that tourism industry places more focus on material space and less on historic and resident culture,the potential values of public cultural space have not been fully exploited and the cultural connotation is gradually losing.This thesis is going to study on traditional cultural public space of historic city resort based on cultural gene theory following the concept of reverse transcription of genetic engineering.After collecting cultural elements from traditional cultural public space,the culture gene can be extracted and problems on culture gene vectors in the public space can be found as well as exploring the possible strategies on how to protect culture will be discussed.The study first defines the concepts to cultural public space of historic city and cultural gene,before it gives a literature review to these two aspects,besides,the study analyzes the vector type of culture genes in the public space.Second,using Jianshui Historic City resort as an example,the thesis analyzes well bay,alleys and religious architecture three cultural public spaces and extract cultural elements from three angles,namely,spatial creating,way of life and historic.Then it uses an inverse transcription to the cultural elements from three levels,namely,external appearance,behavior and activity as well as ideology to extract cultural genes and analyze their cultural connotations.After the analysis,it is concluded that the traditional public cultural space of Jianshui Historic City is deeply influenced by Han culture,conveying the Confucianism thoughts of class,conservatism and respecting education and the well water culture represents the vein of resident life.Furthermore,this thesis analyses the unstainability of gene vectors in the public space.Finally,the thesis analyzes the macro-environmental and micro-environmental factors affecting cultural genes of the historic city and their interaction.Based on above,it is proposed the principle of originality,intactness and sustainability of public space should be obeyed during the culture protection and updating.For cultural gene vector,macro conservation,moderate coordination and micro restoration strategies are put forth.For behavior and activity vector,protecting activity sites,mending social networking and resuming traditional cultural events are brought forward.It suggests stronger non-material expression for the non-material vector.All the advice will provide a reference to promoting cultural tourism and inheritance in Jianshui Historic City resort.
