The Jing Xing Ancient Road used to be the main traffic route connecting the North China Plain region and the Shanxi Plateau region, which is located in the middle of the Taihang Mountains, for the fifth path of the eight paths through the Taihang Mountain, also for the sixth fort of the nine forts in China. It has played a huge historical role in the military defense, economic exchange, political stability, and social development of important towns on both sides of the Taihang Mountains and the surrounding areas along the route. It is known as the “thoroughfare of Yan and Jin”.As a result, many unique types of traditional settlements have been created along the route, carrying the various historical cultures of the Jing Xing Ancient Road.In recent decades, with the rapid development of Chinese urbanization, the traditional settlements along the Jing Xing Ancient Road with unique historical environment and regional characteristics are facing multiple impacts and influences. In this paper, the Jing Xing Ancient Road and its traditional settlements along the route are taken as the research object.Based on the relevant historical materials and field survey data of the Jing Xing Ancient Road, the overall protection of the Jing Xing Ancient Road heritage is used as the starting point, using Arc GIS spatial analysis technology, minimum cumulative resistance model and analytic hierarchy process and other research technologies and methods,to explore the diachronic evolution and Spatial distribution characteristics of the Jing Xing Ancient Road and its traditional settlements, analyzes its influencing factors, and construct the Jing Xing Ancient Road heritage corridors.First of all, based on the relevant historical materials and field survey data, the path of the Jing Xing Ancient Road was analyzed. Then the system composition of the Jing Xing Ancient Road was analyzed and the traditional settlements along the Jing Xing Ancient Road were classified.Secondly, the Jing Xing Ancient Road system database is created. And based on this database, the diachronic evolution of the Jingxing Ancient Road and its traditional settlements were analyzed from the two dimensions of time and space to reveal the factors affecting its diachronic evolution.Thirdly, using Arc GIS spatial analysis technology to quantitatively analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of traditional settlements along the Jing Xing Ancient Road, revealing the differences in the spatial distribution of traditional settlements along the Jingxing Ancient Road and along East Road,West Road,North Road and West Branch Road.Through the distribution characteristics of traditional settlements along the Jingxing Ancient Road at elevation, slope, and aspect, and their spatial relationships with rivers, the Jingxing Ancient Road, and modern roads are analyzed to reveal the relationship between traditional settlements along the Jingxing Ancient Road with different natural geographic environments, road transportation networks and other elements,in order to summarize the star factors of their spatial distribution differences. Finally, based on the foregoing analysis, using the minimum cumulative resistance model and analytic hierarchy process and other research techniques and methods, the resistance factors are selected and resistance classification, assignment and weight determination are performed. The construction of heritage corridor is evaluated for suitability, and then the heritage corridor of the traditional settlement along the Jingxing Ancient Road is constructed, and its characteristic heritage resources are analyzed. This paper gets rid of the previous unilateral analysis of the Jingxing Ancient Road or its traditional settlements, and makes qualitative and quantitative analysis of the diachronic evolution characteristics and the spatial distribution characteristics of the Jingxing Ancient Road and its traditional settlements along the route from the holistic perspective.Based on the minimum cumulative resistance model and other technical methods, the heritage corridor of the Jingxing Ancient Road is provided, and the heritage resources along the Jingxing Ancient Road are integrated to provide a theoretical basis for the further overall protection and activation of the Jingxing Ancient Road and its traditional settlements along the route. |
