As a demonstration zone for industrial transfer along the river in Anhui Province, the Wanjiang Economic Belt has been included in the country’s important development strategy plan, exploring new models for industrial transfer in the central and western regions, and its development strategy is important. Therefore,it is very necessary to do a good job in the geological work in this area and provide a geological basis for engineering construction, ecological civilization construction, and scientific layout. This article mainly studies the engineering geological conditions of the Wanjiang Economic Zone.Through summarizing the existing hydrogeology, engineering geology and other geological data, field investigations and evidence collection and integrated analysis, the regional geological background conditions, engineering geological conditions, and rock formations are ascertained. The engineering geological properties of the soil mass, the engineering geological zoning and Zoning according to the hazards of special soil. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)According to different sedimentary ages and soil properties, the engineering geological layer groups are divided into 6 groups;according to the rock type, the mechanical characteristics of the rock mass, and the changes in lithofacies, the engineering geological rock groups are divided into 8 groups.(2)Divide engineering geology into 3 large areas according to the type of geomorphology, and then divide the three large areas into 11 sub-regions based on the engineering geological group shown by the geomorphic unit and borehole data.(3)According to factors such as the type, distribution law,and engineering geological properties of the special soil, the hazards of the special soil are divided into 1hazardous area,2 hazardous areas, and 1 hazardous area.
