Insulator is an important component of transmission line.Its contamination deposition characteristics will affect the external insulation performance of insulator,which is one of the main basis of external insulation configuration.The surface energy of insulator,as a description of the energy state of umbrella surface,directly affects the fouling performance of insulator surface.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to master the influence law of insulator surface energy on its pollution accumulation characteristics under natural conditions,which can provide some reference for the research of insulator umbrella surface materials,and effectively reduce the occurrence of pollution flashover accidents on transmission lines.Taking the typical insulator as the research object,the force analysis of the collision and adhesion process between the pollution particles and the insulator surface is carried out.Based on the energy equation,the expression and modified expression of the dynamic deposition model of the pollution particles are established.And the original surface energy values of the two kinds of insulators are obtained by using the calculation equation.The wind tunnel fouling characteristics of XWP2-160 porcelain double umbrella insulator and FXBW-330/120 composite insulation were simulated by COMSOL software.The numerical simulation results of the two insulator deposition models were compared with the experimental results,which verified the rationality of the numerical simulation method of surface energy modified deposition model.The minimum surface energy of the two insulators is obtained by searching the related literature.Based on this,the natural pollution deposition models of XWP2-160porcelain double umbrella insulator and FXBW4-110/100 composite insulator are established by COMSOL.The flow field and electric field are analyzed to verify whether the simulation results are in line with the actual situation.By controlling three single factors of wind speed,particle size and pollution concentration,the similarities and differences of natural pollution accumulation characteristics of two kinds of insulators under original surface energy and low surface energy were compared and analyzed,and then the influence of surface energy on insulator pollution accumulation characteristics was explored.The main results show that:1)The numerical simulation method of surface energy modified deposition model is more reasonable.2)The pollution accumulation of the original surface energy of the two kinds of insulators is greater than that of the low surface energy.Reducing the surface energy can reduce the pollution accumulation.3)Compared with the porcelain double umbrella insulator,the pollution accumulation multiple of the two surface energy of the composite insulator is smaller.4)When the particle size of porcelain double umbrella insulator is 15μm,the original surface energy and low surface energy are the lowest.When the particle size of composite insulator is 10μm,the original surface energy and low surface energy are the lowest.While when the particle size of both insulators is 20μm,the multiple between the original surface energy and low surface energy is larger,whose maximum multiple is 10.4 times and 1.4 times.When the particle size is large,the low surface energy of the two insulators has a great influence on the pollution accumulation.5)When the porcelain double umbrella insulator is 2 m/s,the difference of the two surface energy is large.Similarly,when the composite insulator is 2 m/s and 4 m/s,the difference of the two surface energy is also large.6)Under the wind speed of 1~4 m/s,the pollution accumulation of both the original surface energy and low surface energy of the two insulators increase with the increase of concentration.Therefore,low surface energy has a great influence on the amount of pollution in the case of strong concentration pollution.
