As an important application of the Internet of Things,VANETs(Vehicle Ad Hoc Networks)can improve road traffic safety, promote vehicle data sharing, ensure the safety of vehicles, and is highly potential in its future application.Through the VANETs,the vehicle can communicate with other entity based on V2X(Vehicle to Everything)communication standards, providing information sharing. The information sent by vehicle generally includes sensitive information related to the user’s privacy, such as the vehicle’s identity, location, etc.Since vehicles communicate with other entities through open wireless channels,it is easy to suffer from passive attacks, tampering attacks, forgery attacks, counterfeit attacks, etc.,leading to the potential privacy leaks of users, and may cause a serious threat to users.Protecting the users’ privacy information security, eliminating users’ worry about their privacy leaks, which is an important guarantee for the large-scale application of the VANETs and sustainable and healthy development.Privacy protection research is an important part of the application research in VANETs.It is a state-of-the-art problem of academic research. It is also the main research content of this paper. The main research results obtained by the paper are as follows:Sharing traffic information via V2V(Vehicle to Vehicle)communication is one of the main application scenarios of the VANETs.This paper proposes a privacy-preserved V2 V anonymous authentication scheme for V2 V communication. In the scheme, the vehicle encrypts and transmits information anonymously, achieving the user’s identity privacy protection and the security of V2 V communication. The scheme does not use any pseudonym, thereby avoiding complex pseudonym management problem caused by using pseudonyms. This scheme supports many-to-many secure communication between vehicles and the communication between vehicles does not require assistance from RSU(Road Side Unit)or TA(Trusted Authority),so the scheme is better in terms of adaptability and efficiency.Security analysis indicates that this scheme meets anonymity, confidentiality, authentication, unlinkability, traceability, nonrepudiation, and revocation.Performance analysis and simulation analysis show that the scheme has better computational efficiency and lower delays than compared schemes. The Vehicle Crowd Sensing is another important application scenario for VANETs.Accordingly,a privacy-preserving data collection scheme is proposed in this paper.Based on this scheme, the vehicle reports the data to RSU,and RSU forwards the data to collector.Similarly, this scheme does not use any pseudonyms in the data collection process, and treats RSU and collector as a semi-trusted entity,as it can resist the linkage attack of RSU and collector. Thus,it provides a better protection on the user’s privacy. In addition, this scheme has designed a privacy preserving reputation mechanism to protect the user’s reputation privacy,so that collector can select a user without knowing the real reputation level of the user.Security analysis shows that this scheme meets security attributes such as anonymity, unlinkability, confidentiality, and reputation privacy, while performance analysis shows that the scheme has lower computing overhead and communication overhead.
