The Research On The Support System Of Modern Hospitals In Wuhan(1864-1964)

The support system plays an extremely important role in the operation of the hospital.It mainly provides the hospital with the supply and disposal of various materials,including the supply of water,electricity,heating,medical supplies,catering,etc.,as well as contaminated medical supplies,bedding,and clothing.The treatment of sewage,dirt,garbage and corpses,etc.,provides guarantee and support for the orderly development of the hospital’s own work.But the support system is often the most overlooked part of the hospital design.Wuhan founded the first Western-style hospital in Central China in 1864.In the following 100 years,more than 100 hospitals have been established.It is one of the earliest and most numerous cities in the inland area.However,it is aimed at modern hospital architecture in Wuhan.There is relatively little historical research.After more than 100 years of development,the hospital has realized the transformation from a modern western-style hospital to a modern hospital,and the hospital support system has also achieved modern development in this process.This research takes hospitals in Wuhan during this period as the research object to study the modern development of the hospital support system.This article will sort out the development status of different types of hospitals and their security systems in different periods and types of hospitals and their support systems in different periods and through field research.Through the analysis of typical cases,it discusses the development characteristics,motivations and influences of the support system in the process of hospital modernization.According to the time of Wuhan’s liberation,this article is divided into two historical periods: the pre-liberation(1864-1948)and the post-liberation(1949-1964).First,the preliberation hospital is divided into three categories: medical missionary hospitals,hospitals designed by professional architects,and other hospitals,and summarizes the construction of the hospital and the development of its support system.And through comparison with modern hospitals in developed countries,the gap between the support system of modern hospitals in Wuhan and the world’s advanced hospitals is discussed.Secondly,the postliberation hospitals are divided into two types: hospitals established before liberation and newly opened hospitals after liberation,summarized the hospital construction and the development characteristics of the support system,and analyzed the housing characteristics of the support system during this period.Finally,an in-depth analysis is made on the construction of the support system of the five hospitals.Based on history,summarize the evolution characteristics of the hospital support system,and discuss the development factors of the support system from the three levels of medicine,society,and architecture,and discuss the impact of the support system on modern hospital buildings.Finally,it draws the enlightenment for the current hospital and its support system construction.
