Architecture Research Of Modern Missionary Hospital In Anhui(1876~1949)

Modern hospital architecture is the type of western foreign architecture,China has never developed a hospital type building in history.Because of the Chinese people don't build a hospital type building in Anhui province,the modern hospital architecture in Anhui province was the church hospital built by the western churches.The church hospital has the dual attribute of religion and hospital,on the one hand,because of the church hospital is one of the trinity of church,school and hospital,it has religious attribute;Another aspect,because the church hospital is a hospital type architecture combining western modern medicine and hygiene concept,has hospital attribute.To study the church hospital built in modern Anhui church can not only reflect the introduction of modern medical civilization and hospital type building into Anhui area;On the other hand,can discuss " the western church hospital how to merge Anhui native culture? " and developed for the modern church hospital in Anhui province.Therefore,this paper systematically studies the architecture of modern church hospital in Anhui province.Based on the critical historical events in Anhui province,this paper divides the development of modern church hospital in Anhui province into four stages,and summarizes the development process and architectural characteristics of each stage.At the same time,from two aspects — the distribution of church organization in Anhui and the construction of church hospital in Anhui province,the historical development of modern church hospital architecture in Anhui province was summarized.Through the field surveying and mapping research,the four existing church hospital buildings in Anhui province,and from the planning site and overall layout,architectural design,building structure and materials,in-depth exploration.Through comprehensive analysis,the characteristics and historical development of modern church hospital in Anhui province were obtained.The modern church hospital building in Anhui province is a hospital type building under the concept of medicine and health,for the embryonic form of modern hospital architecture;At the same time,embodies the localization characteristics restricted by Chinese traditional thought.The construction of modern church hospital in Anhui province has dual functions of preaching and treating disease;It is reflected in the architectural space in addition to the establishment of medical space,also set up religious space-chapel.The architecture of modern church hospital in Anhui province reflects the development process and characteristics of modern church hospital in China to some extent.
