A Study On Security Of Urban Residential Area Based On GIS Technology

The security of urban residential area is the representative of social harmony and stability and the source of people’s happiness.In the research on the security of urban residential areas,it is found that one of the factors affecting the security of urban residential areas is urban criminal activities,and robbery is the most prominent in a series of criminal activities.Every year,a large number of theft and robbery cases occur in urban areas,resulting in countless property losses of citizens,which has a negative impact on the security and stability of urban areas.With the development of science and technology,GIS technology(geographic information technology)has been quite mature.In order to reduce the property damage of residents and increase the safety index of urban residential areas,this topic makes full use of GIS technology function to study the safety of Kunming urban residential areas,and then through scientific planning to prevent urban criminal activities.Firstly,this paper summarizes the definition of criminal geography and residential areas,factors affecting residential security,GIS related index and other related concepts,and summarizes the relevant theoretical basis.Secondly,the functional advantages of GIS in residential security are expounded.On this basis,the original data of criminal activities in different regions were collected,and the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of robbery and robbery behaviors in Kunming residential areas were statistically analyzed by using moran index and standard deviation ellipse in GIS technology.Finally,based on the above analysis results and combined with the field investigation methods,the environmental factors causing robbery and robbery behaviors were determined,and targeted residential safety prevention measures were proposed from three aspects,including land use,urban facilities and street traffic.
