Study On Public Space Vitality Construction Strategy Of Beijing White Tower Temple Historic District

With the continuous development of social division of labor and the steady improvement of productivity,China’s current urbanization process is gradually slowing down from high-speed growth,and more and more cities are in the transition stage from incremental development to inventory development.In this context,the improvement of the quality of old streets is of great significance for the reconstruction and optimization of urban functions,and has become an important part of urban construction at the present stage.Historical blocks belong to the core part of the old urban blocks.They contain profound historical and cultural deposits,but gradually lose their vitality after urban changes.Therefore,the revival of historic blocks is an urgent problem facing urban renewal.Located in the core area of Beijing city,Beijing White Tower Temple Historic District is an important part of Beijing historical and cultural reserve,carrying a long regional culture and showing the traditional style of Beijing old city.However,the impact of the modern city makes the wane,built blocks is facing enormous challenges,the change of the modern transportation and people’s need for public life in the neighborhood public space gradually cannot meet the needs of users,how to keep the blocks under the premise of the traditional style for public space,in the construction of modern city update realize the protection and development coordination,The significance of this paper is to endow the continuation of the vitality of the historic block of Beijing White Tower Temple Historic District.This paper the development and characteristics of the historic district at home and abroad were reviewed,the research on the relevant theories of urban vitality,and then summarizes the historical block energy source,composition and influence factors,from the space,function,culture,social system,four dimensions to establish a dynamic elements to context seek historical block energy construction as the key.Secondly,the historical evolution of the historic block of Beijing White Tower Temple Historic District,the source of vitality in the traditional period and the current situation and problems of the vitality of the public space are analyzed through the search of literature materials and field research and interviews.Finally,according to the system of factors affecting the vitality and the current characteristics of the public space of Beijing White Tower Temple Historic District,The strategy of building vitality was put forward and applied in practice from four aspects of improving space utilization,optimizing functional mixing,strengthening cultural perception and enhancing social participation.
