Because of its convenience and efficiency, urban rail transit has become an important mode of transport. However, due to the service life of facilities and passenger traffic, operational incidents showed a trend of growth, which have an important impact to operation safety. As an important node of urban rail transit system,it is urgent to study the evolvement characteristics of passenger flow inside the transfer station.Based on the actual operational incident of Nanjing Metro, this study mined the regular characteristics of fault occurrence.Based on the analysis results of passenger route, inbound passenger flow, transfer passenger flow and outbound passenger flow that affected the change characteristics of passenger flow at the transfer station are calculated in detail. Then, influences of operational incident are divided into two categories: the running interval remains unchanged after the operation resumes while in the other case the train interval increased.Anylogic is used to model these two cases and compare them with the normal operation.Three indexes are selected to analyze the evolution characteristics of passenger flow quantitatively, including flow load intensity, passenger flow change rate and passenger flow density. Finally,Daxinggong Station is used as an example for analysis.Parameters in the model are calibrated with field survey and AFC data. After that targeted emergency measures are proposed and it is found that congestion in the station is significantly alleviated. The innovation of this research lies in :(1)A micro simulation model on the transfer station under the operational incident is established to describe the variation characteristics of passenger flow.(2)Considering the time-varying characteristics of passenger flow. The source and destination of passenger flow are divided and calculated in detail based on passenger timespace travel route.(3)The index system is established to compare the failure scenario with the normal operation scenario.
