The constant speeding up of urbanization course is a developing trend of our society .Overview on development of global cities, the motorization development always accompanies with the urbanization. Resident trip is a combination of multi-modal in the cities with highly developed motorization. It is difficult to meet travel needs of majority only by means of certain traffic mode. So much importance should be attached to taking advantages of every traffic mode.On the basis of summary on experiences of urban rail transit station's transfer system planning , the problems of our country's transfer system are analyzed and the content of transfer system planning is brought forward .Then the transfer passenger flow volume of rail transit station is predicted by multinomial logit model (MNL)and how to weak the negative affections of prediction error is discussed .The reasonable classification of rail transit station is helpful to transfer system planning. Through the analysis of station classification system at home and abroad, rail transit stations are divided into comprehensive hub ,hub and general transfer station according to three indexes which are station location ,class of transfer mode and the transfer passenger flow volume. On the basis of reasonable classification of rail transit station, transfer system planning methods are elaborated from the following aspects: seamless transfer between rail transit and other traffic modes , improvement of conventional public transit, software measures , traffic square planning and construction of the station surroundings .Then transfer system is evaluated by information entropy and generalized utility function in terms of transport capacity matching degree, parking facilities supply percent, average transfer time, passenger flow turnover per hour and transfer comfort. Finally the integration project of rail transit station in Guangzhou is analyzed specifically by the planning methods of transfer system introduced above.
