Since the reform and opening up,with the development of China’s market economy and the rapid improvement of people’s living conditions,China’s electricity industry has developed unprecedentedly.As the world’s largest power-generating country,China plays a key role in the process of global power structure reform.At the UN General Assembly in 2020,Xi Jinping,General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee,proposed for the first time that China should strive to achieve the goals of "peak carbon dioxide emissions" by 2030 and "carbon neutrality" by 2060.With the goal of "dual carbon",China’s reform in power industry is producing important changes,which should not only accelerate the establishment of a new modern power system dominated by clean electricity,but also shoulder the important responsibility of improving the electrification level of urban and rural residents in many fields.In the thesis,I use M Company as my research object.It focuses on hydropower development,power allotment,overhauling operation of overseas power stations,intelligent integrated energy and capital operation,etc.It has power business in many countries in the world such as Malaysia,Brazil,Peru and Germany.It has also set up international and domestic service platform of electricity ration like the China Three Gorges Water Conservancy and Luz Del Sur,Peru.Although hydropower is currently the leading renewable energy with huge development opportunities,what development strategy does M company need to cope with the increasingly fierce competition in the industry under the situation that thermal power generation still occupies a large portion and new energy develop rapidly in the future? On the basis of strategic management-related theory and basic analysis tool,first I will make a systemic analysis of its external environment and internal operation status,and list all kinds of factors that have a significant impact on its future development including the opportunities,threats,strengths and weaknesses.Then I will give it a score using External Factor Evaluation Matrix and Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix and make a SWOT analysis and combine four kinds of strategic options.Finally I will use the strategic quadrilateral law to judge the choice of M Company,and according to its selected strategy set its strategic objectives and implementation plan,and work out some measures to ensure its successful implementation of the strategy in terms of management and operation,production safety,human resources and other relevant supporting safeguard measures.I hope that my research can promote the healthy and rapid development of M Company,and meanwhile provide some reference for the development of other electric power enterprises.
