| The establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area has made China and ASEAN closer. In October 2013,when President Xi Jinping visited ASEAN countries,he put forward the idea of co-construction of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road",which once again provided new opportunities for China and ASEAN to conduct trade. In 2019,ASEAN has historically become China’s second largest trading partner, and China is ASEAN’s largest trading partner.China has natural advantages in fisheries resources, and its national policies are continuously guided and supported.Asean ’s demand for aquatic products has increased, making aquatic products one of the five key areas for China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation.ASEAN has become the second largest market for China’s aquatic products exports after Japan. Therefore, this study selects ten ASEAN countries as the research object, and analyzes the growth pattern and influencing factors of China’s export of aquatic products to ASEAN through the ternary marginal method. This is of great practical significance for a comprehensive assessment of China’s advantages and disadvantages in trade with ASEAN aquatic products, the transformation of China’s aquatic product export economy, and the realization of China’s balanced growth of ASEAN aquatic product exports from multiple channels. This article first analyzes the current situation of China’s aquatic products exports to ASEAN.It first makes a comparative analysis of China’s export of aquatic products to the world and ASEAN.Then analyze the current status of China’s aquatic products export to ASEAN from the three aspects of export scale, export species structure and export country.Secondly, the ternary marginal model is used to decompose the growth of China’s aquatic products exports to ASEAN into three indicators: breadth, quantity and price. The detailed analysis is made from the three aspects of the overall export of aquatic products to ASEAN,the export of different types of aquatic products, and the export to specific ASEAN countries.Thirdly, the panel data model regression analysis is used to analyze the main factors affecting this growth model. Finally, based on the above analysis, put forward countermeasures and suggestions that can improve the competitiveness of China’s aquatic products and maintain the continued growth of China’s aquatic products exports to ASEAN.It is found through research that ASEAN is the second largest market for Chinese seafood exports, but China is not the most important import market for ASEAN.China’s exports of ASEAN aquatic products are relatively concentrated, and the countries with the most exports are Malaysia, the Philippines,Thailand and Indonesia. The growth pattern of China’s overall export of aquatic products to ASEAN is "principal price growth, supplemented by quantitative growth".The growth of the first type of aquatic products export is "the growth in quantity is the main factor, and the breadth growth is the complement." The growth of the export of the second type of aquatic products basically depends on the increase in prices. The third type of export growth of aquatic products follows the pattern of "mainly volume growth and supplementary price growth".China’s export of aquatic products to Indonesia,Malaysia, the Philippines,Singapore and Thailand follows the growth model of “volume-based growth, supplemented by price growth”.China’s export of aquatic products to Vietnam follows the growth model of “pricing price growth and supplementing breadth growth”.China’s aquatic products account for a very small proportion of exports to other ASEAN countries,so this article does not specifically analyze the growth patterns of these countries’ exports. The scale of China’s economic development and China’s annual aquatic product output are the most important factors affecting the ternary margin of China’s export of aquatic products to ASEAN.Fixed trade costs are the most important factor affecting the margin of China’s export of aquatic products to ASEAN.In order to promote China’s further development of aquatic product export trade with ASEAN,this article proposes countermeasures from four aspects.Expand the market share of Chinese aquatic products in the ASEAN market.Increase the diversity of exported aquatic products.Improve the added value of aquatic products and achieve "winning by quality".Reduce fixed trade costs. These will promote the economic transformation of China’s aquatic product exports and achieve a balanced growth of China’s export of ASEAN aquatic products. |
