This experiment was conducted to study the effects of compound intestinal protectant on the production performance,slaughter performance,meat quality,intestinal development and flora of Liangfeng broilers.375 Liangfeng broilers which were one-day-old were randomly divided into five groups with 5 replications per group and 15 broilers per replicate.The negative control group was fed with basal diet,the positive control group was fed with diet supplemented with antibiotics.Liangfeng broilers in the test group I,II,and III were fed with diet supplemented with 1.5 g/kg,2 g/kg,2.5 g/kg compound intestinal protectant respectively.The test period was 75 d.The results showed that,In the aspect of growth performance,during the whole test period,the ratio of material to weight in group III was significantly lower than the negative control group(P<0.01),The test group I and II was significantly lower than the negative control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the test group and the positive control group(P>0.05).In the aspect of slaughter performance and meat quality,there was no significant difference among each group(P>0.05).In the aspect of immune organ index,compared with the negative control group,the spleen index of the test III group was significantly increased by 50%(P<0.05).In the aspect of intestinal morphology,the V/C value of duodenum of test group III was significantly higher than that of the positive control group(P<0.01);the jejunum V/C value of test group II was significantly higher than that of the negative and the positive control group(P<0.05).The V/C value of ileum of group III was significantly higher than that of the negative and positive groups(P<0.05).In the aspect of intestinal flora,the number of Lactobacillus of test III group was significantly higher than that of the negative control group,test I and test II(P<0.05),and the number of Escherichia coli and Salmonella of test III was significantly lower than that of the positive control group.negative control group,test group I and test group II(P<0.01);In the aspects of digestion and metabolism,compared with the negative control group,the digestibility of crude fat,and phosphorus in diets of Liangfeng broilers of each experimental group were significantly improved(P<0.01).Compared with the positive control group,the digestibility of crude protein of test III was significantly improved(P <0.01),and the digestibility of crude fat and phosphorus were significantly improved(P <0.05),also the retention of calcium and phosphorus were improved.Above all,under the experimental conditions,the digestion and absorption of nutrient substance were promoted,the feed conversion efficiency was improved,the growth performance was improved,as well as the structure of intestinal microflora by supplementing different levels of compound intestinal protectant in broiler diet of Liangfeng.Comprehensive consideration,antibiotics could be replaced by Compound intestinal protectant,and the optimum dosage of Compound intestinal protectant in diets for the Liangfeng broilers was 2.5 g/kg.
