| As precious natural resources,ancient and famous trees are not only human living cultural relics,but are also organic components of ecological civilization.The protection of ancient and famous trees is of great significance for protecting the natural ecology,carrying out scientific research,developing regional economy,and improving people’s spiritual life.This paper investigates the status quo of ancient and famous trees in Xuchang city,it focuses on the species composition and analysis,protection level,distribution area,ownership,growth site and growth environment of ancient and famous trees.The health evaluation and landscape evaluation of ancient and famous trees aims at constructing the comprehensive value evaluation system of ancient and famous trees in this city,and putting forward suggestions for the protection of ancient and famous trees in Xuchang.Major results are as following.There are 917 ancient and famous trees in Xuchang city,they belong to46 species.Among them,8 ancient tree groups include 3 species and 78 trees.The top 5 ancient and famous trees are Sophora japonica Linn.、Gleditsia sinensis Lam.、Juniperus chinensis 、Linn.Diospyros kaki Thunb.and Platycladus orientalis(Linn.).Platycladus orientalis(Linn.)accounts for the largest proportion of locust.Ancient and famous trees in Xuchang city belong to 26 families,40 genera and 46 species,the top 3dominant families are leguminosae,persimmon and curpressaceae,the top three dominant genera are acacia,cypress and pyrus.The flora of this area is mainly composed of temperate zone with certain tropical distribution group,which features the transition of warm temperate zone in the south and subtropical zone in the north prominently.There are 189 first-grade ancient trees,304 second-grade ancient trees and 421 third-grade ancient trees in Xuchang city.And there are 3 famous trees.The distribution of ancient and famous trees in different counties and districts of Xuchang city is also quite different.The distribution of ancient and famous trees in Yuzhou city is the largest,which has 623 trees.Among these famous trees and ancient trees,there are 521 belonging to the collectivity,individuals possessed 234 trees,.There are 92 trees belonging to the country,meanwhile,another 70 trees has a fuzzy ownership.The ownership of ancient and famous trees is mainly owned by collectivity,followed by individuals.Most of the ancient and famous trees grow around the streets of villages,There are 24 trees in urban areas,5 trees in scenic spots,and 7 in Xiangcheng state forestry farms.According to the health evaluation of ancient trees and famous trees from 6 aspects and 11 indexes,the health conditions of ancient trees and famous trees are divided into 4 grades,and it can be concluded that as for the growth state of the whole ancient trees and famous,413 trees were on average grade,364 trees are in health grade,122 trees belong to the poor grade,and 18 trees are dying ancient trees.The landscape evaluation index of ancient and famous trees was determined by resource value,aesthetic value and ecological value.It can be noticed that there were 28 ancient trees belonging to[4-5],111 ancient trees score [2-4],and 775 ancient trees score belonging to [0-2],accounting for the largest proportion.For the ancient and famous trees with high scores,they need to be protected,thus to form certain landscape value.For the ancient trees with low scores,which do not fully form specific landscape value,the protection and rejuvenation of this part of ancient trees need to be strengthened,and measures should be taken to gradually build and reflect the landscape value of the ancient trees.Through the investigation and research on the protection and utilization of ancient and famous trees in Xuchang city,it is necessary to legislate protection laws of Xuchang ancient and famous trees,to build up tree level accountability for ancient and famous trees,formulate some specific protection rules for each ancient trees and famous trees.Furthermore,it is inevitable to carry out the rules of “protection first,comprehensive development”,and strengthen the ancient and famous trees related research. |
