Ancient famous tree species which are the "living fossils" in the long history are the very precious natural heritage that nature has left to future generations.Also,they are the non-replicable treasures in forest resources and a natural wealth shared by all mankind and even global creatures.Ancient famous tree species not only have a very important historical,ecological,landscape value,but also has a cultural,scientific and high economic value.Therefore,strengthening the protection and management of ancient famous t ree species plays an important role in protecting the environment and the history of social development,promoting advanced ecological culture and ecological civilization and the construction of amazing China as well.This thesis takes the ancient famous tree species in Sanshui District,Foshan City as the main research objects using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)-comprehensive fuzzy evaluation method to carry out the health assessment research.The field work was to investigate and take photos for 600 kinds of the existing ancient trees on site in Sanshui District,Foshan City,and then to finish the questionnaires of them,and then to collect the information of them,such as height,chest,crown,age,site conditions and special affected factors.The interior work was to input and analyse the information of the ancient trees,and then to analyse the collected data of the trees and make the comprehensive scoring of their health using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)-comprehensive fuzzy evaluation method.Through the analysis of historical documents,expert scoring and the necessary investigation and experiments,YAAHP software is used to assign weight to each index of health evaluation hierarchy model.Finally,the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to calculate the final health assessment.Here are the main findings :(1)The statistical analysis of the collected data of the ancient trees shows that there are 600 ancient trees in the Sanshui District,among which there are 19 level two anc ient trees and 590 level three ancient trees.According to statistics,there are 11 species of trees in Sanshui District.Ficus microcarpa,Huang Gerong,longan,lychee,kapok and other native trees account for the vast majority,respectively,414 Ficus microcarpas,65 Huang Gerong,57 Longan,25 Kapok and 20 Lychee.Among them,the oldest which is located in the southwest street in Sanshui District,Foshan City is a 400-year-old kapok,followed by a 390-year-old Ficus microcarpa and a 370-year-old Huang Ge Rong.The largest bust of the ancient trees is a kapok located in the Lubao town with 1680 cm bust,followed by a Ficus microcarpa with 1100 cm bust.(2)The screening of the health assessment index of the ancient trees should take the scientific,the representative,the operability and the system as the principle first,considering the key characteristics of the senescence process of the growth and development of the ancient trees.4 indexes,the whole body,the root,the trunk,The crown,was designed.14 indexes,the growth potential,tilt,root permeability,root exposure,visible root damage,visible root pests,internal rot or empty,bark damage,trunk pests and diseases,the crowns,the canopy density,the withered branches,the leaf tones and the canopy pests and diseases,which were selected from the 4 indexes,constructed the health assessment index frame of the ancient famous trees in Sanshui District,Foshan City.(3)YAAHP software was used to evaluate the weight of 14 health evaluation factors.The results showed that the factors from large to small sort are visible root pests and diseases(0.1890)> canopy pests and diseases(0.1767)> growth potential(0.1289)> withered branches(0.1061)>root permeability(0.0901)> canopy d ensity(0.0588)> visible root damage(0.0553)> internal rot or empty(0.0545)> tilt(0.0322)> leaf tones(0.0303)> trunk pests and diseases(0.0267)> partial crown(0.0232)>root exposure(0.0206)> bark damage(0.0076),among which 5 indexes,Visible root pests and diseases,canopy pests and diseases,growth potential,withered branches,root permeability,are all higher than the average weight of overall index(0.0714).That indicated that these indicators had a greater impact on the health assessment of ancient famous trees.(4)The fuzzy comprehensive rating method was used to calculate the health assessment value of 600 ancient famous trees in Sanshui District,Foshan City,among which there were 296 good-level trees(5-4.5 points),accounting for 49% of the total;248 not-bad-level trees(4.5-4 points),accounting for 41% of the total;45 so-so-level trees(4-3.5 points),accounting for 8% of the total;12 poor-level trees(3.5-3 points),occupying 2%.The average score of the health of the 600 ancient trees in Foshan City Sanshui is 4.4432.The overall health is at a not-bad-level range.
