The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of adding different Chinese herbal medicines on the growth performance, physiological and biochemical indexes, immune function,anti-stress,anti-oxidation and intestinal villus growth of weaned piglets.A total of 968 and 21-day-old hybrid weaned piglets(Landrace×Yorkshire)with same size were selected as test animals. The piglets were randomly divided into4 treatment groups according to the same gender and similar body weight after weaning. Each treatment group had 6 replicates, and an average of 40 pigs per replicate.Among them, pigs in group 1 serve as control were fed the basal diet only. The group 2 to 4 were fed same diet with 3‰ Chinese herbal compound I,II,III.The feeding period was 30 days, the whole process is free to eat and drink, and the management carried out according to the conventional method. At the beginning and end of the test, the initial weight, the final weight, the daily gain, the daily feed intake, the feed-to-weight ratio, the morbidity rate and the death rate were counted. At the end of the experiment,12 pigs in each group were selected for blood collection and serum separation, and blood, physiological and biochemical indicators, immune indicators and other indicators were tested. At the same time,3 piglets were selected for slaughter and the small intestine(duodenum, duodenum,Jejunum, ileum)villus height and crypt depth and visceral organ index. The results showed that:1.Supplementation Chinese herbal in diets can promote the growth of nursery pigs and improve the growth performance. The Chinese herbal I increased the daily weight gain(P<0.01)and daily feed intake(P<0.01)of the nursery pigs significantly, and the daily gain(P<0.05)and daily feed intake(P<0.05)were significantly increased by supplement Chinese herbal III,while the Chinese herbal II significantly increased the daily feed intake(P<0.05).2.Supplementation Chinese herbal in diets had no effect on serum total protein, blood glucose, total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, but Chinese herbal I promoted the secretion of growth hormone(P<0.05)significantly.and decreased Serum T3 concentration significantly(P<0.01).Chinese herbal II significantly increased the secretion of IGF-I(P<0.05),and decreased serum T3 concentration(P<0.01).3.Supplementation Chinese herbal in diets can promote the growth and development of the small intestine, reduced the depth of duodenal crypt(P<0.01)significantly,increased the height of jejunum villi(P<0.01)and improved the ratio of villus height to crypt depth of Jejunum and ileum(P<0.01),while three Chinese herbal increased the jejunum villus height of nursery pigs by 137.70%,147.18% and 141.33%,respectively.4.Supplementation Chinese herbal in diets reduced the rate of diarrhea, morbidity and death of nursery pigs, and has little effect on serum complement protein C3 and C4(P>0.05),but Chinese herbal II can significantly reduced serum Ig M content.(P<0.05),TNF-α was increased(P<0.01).5.Supplementation Chinese herbal in the diets improved the anti-stress ability and antioxidant capacity of the nursery pigs. The Chinese herbal II increased the serum cortisol content(P<0.01)significantly.6.Three Chinese herbal had no detectable side effects on nursery pigs, and serum phenylalanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase levels and liver and kidney visceral indexes all decreased(P>0.05).
