Abstract/Summary:
Soybean is an important food and oil crop in the world which had-40%protein and-20%oil in its seed.At present, soybean has become the main source of vegetable protein and edible oil for people’s diet.Meanwhile, soybean contains more vitamin E than other crops in seed, and showed an irreplaceable value in many countries. In view of this, one natural population(Pop-1)consisting of 311 soybean varieties and another recombinant inbred line population(Pop-2)consisting of 283 lines were used in this study, and the contents of seed vitamin E(δ-tocopherol,γ-tocopherol,α-tocopherol and total tocopherol),protein and oil were analyzed. The main results are as follows:1.The genetic variations and correlations of seed vitamin E,protein and oil contents of the soybean natural population Pop-1 were studied. The results showed that there existed relative wide genetic variations of the vitamin E,protein and oil contents in the Pop-1 population, and the contents ranged from 159.90 μg/g~382.86 μg/g(total tocopherol),34.68%~44.87%and 16.07%~24.53%,respectively.Meanwhile,the results also showed that there existed significant correlations among vitamin E,protein and oil contents, and the positive correlation between vitamin E and oil, negative correlation between vitamin E and protein contents were detected.2.Twenty-three elite soybean germplasms in Pop-1 population were screened out for its high seed vitamin E,protein and oil contents.Based on the seed vitamin E,protein and oil contents, the natural population was classified into five categories, and the type I and II showed more vitamin E and oil contents than the others.Furthermore, thirteen elite germplasms with high seed vitamin E(Hefeng 50,Hefeng 47 and Henong 75,etc.)and ten elite germplasms with high seed protein or oil contents(Hua-nan-xiao-jin-dou,Ha 13-2958,He-qi,Qian-an-xiao-huang-dou,Hal4-2146,etc.)were selected.3.The genetic variations of vitamin E contents of the soybean recombinant inbred line population Pop-2 were studied, and fourteen elite soybean germplasms were selected for its high seed vitamin E.The results showed that there also existed relative wide genetic variations of the vitamin E in the Pop-2 RIL population, were 14.04%(δ-tocopherol),9.54%(γ-tocopherol),36.59%(α-tocopherol)and 9.24%(total tocopherol),respectively.Based on the seed vitamin E contents, the RIL population was classified into three categories, and the type Ⅰ soybean lines showed more vitamin E contents.Furthermore, fourteen elite RIL lines with high seed vitamin E were selected(L-139,L-325,L-35,L-179 and L-81,etc.).Based on the results, the conclusion are as follows:There existed relative wide genetic variations of the vitamin E,protein and oil contents in the soybean natural population, and the significant correlations among vitamin E,protein and oil contents were detected.Twenty-three elite germplasms with high seed vitamin E,protein and oil contents were selected. The wide genetic variations of vitamin E contents of the soybean recombinant inbred line population were also detected, and fourteen elite RIL lines with high seed vitamin E were also screened out.
