Grass-living thrips is an insect group that has been adopted the habit of gramineous grass where they feed on florets, the tissues of young leaves, small arthropods or fungi.Species of grass-living thrips are diverse, and are classified in three families, including Aeolothripidae,Thripidae and Phlaeothripidae.Taxonomy study on grass-living thrips has important economic and theoretical significances to organic evolution, biodiversity conservation and plant protection. However, few systematic studies have been reported on grass-living thrips in China. In the periods of 2018-2021,the species of grass-living thrips in Changchun and its surrounding areas were collected and identified, furthermore, taxonomy and fauna analysis to this group insect are studied.A total of 20 species in 15 genera belonging to 3 families of the order Thysanoptera were documented from Changchun,China, including Panchaetothripinae Bganall,a new record subfamily to Jilin Province;Caliothrips Daniel and Hydatothrips Karny,,two new record genera to Jilin Province;Caliothrips tongi Mound,Zhang & Bei,2011,Hydatothrips dentatus(Steinweden &Moulton,1930),Megalurothrips usitatus(Bagnall,1913),Odontothrips loti(Haliday,1852)and Thrips nigropilosa Uzel, five new record species to Jilin Province.A key to these adult thrips was provided and 20 characteristic figures of these species were illustrated. All the examined specimens were deposited in the Insect Collection of Jilin University(JLU).The results enrich the species diversity of insects in Jilin Province and provide specimen resources for the systematic study of Thysanoptera in China.Zoogeographical Fauna analyses indicated that the Thripinae of Thripidae was the dominant subfamily, which including 14 species and accounting for 70.0% of the total grass-living thrips species.Anaphothrips and Thrips were the dominant genus, each containing 3 species. The geographical distribution types of grass thrips in Changchun are complex and diverse. There are 8 types in the world geographical division, among which 5 species are distributed continuously from Palaearctic region to Oriental region, accounting for 25% of the total grass-living thrips species.Four species are distributed discontinuously from all the world geographical regions and only one species,Anaphothrips populi Zhang & Tong,is endemic distributed in Palaearctic region. There are 13 types in the Chinese geographical division, among which five species are distributed from all the Chinese geographical regions and only one species,Oxythrips strobilus(Tong & Zhang),is endemic distributed in the Northeast China.
