With the advancement of "prohibition of the antibiotic uses",probiotics, which show significant effect on growth-promoting,regulating intestinal-tract health and improving nutrients digestibility, attracts increasing interests as substitutes for antibiotics, and has been widely used in swine, poultry industry and dairy cows. But the effect of probiotics on sheep industry is rarely studied, especially compound probiotics. The current study aimed to detect the effects of compound probiotics on growth performance, nutrients apparent digestibility and serum parameters of Hu-sheep based on total mixed ration(TMR)and pelleted total mixed ration(PTMR),to provide basic academic gist and practical consult for usage of compound probiotics on sheep industry.Trial 1 Effects of Compound Probiotics on Growth Performance,Nutrients Apparent Digestibility and Blood Parameters of Fattening Hu Sheep Based on PTMRThis study investigated the effects of different doses of compound probiotics in pelleted total mixed ration on growth performance, nutrients apparent digestibility and blood parameters of fattening Hu-sheep.Sixty fattening male Hu-sheep(18.1±1.8 kg)were randomly divided into 4 groups, fifteen sheep for each group. The compound probiotics supplementary was 0,1,2,and 3 g/kg in PTMR,respectively, and the 0 g/kg group was set as control group.Animal trial lasted for 45 days, with 7 days adaptation. The results indicated that 1 and 2 g/kg compound probiotics supplementary groups had a 10%greater average daily gain than control and 3 g/kg supplementary groups(P<0.01),but dramatically lower in feed to gain ratio, implying a higher feed efficiency;1 g/kg compound probiotics supplementation increased dry matter apparent digestion(P<0.05)and 2 g/kg supplementation increased protein digestion(P<0.05),but no difference was observed in neutral and acid detergent fiber degradation.1 g/kg supplementary group was greater in serum total protein and globulin, but lower in albumin/globulin(P<0.05).Therefore,1 g/kg compound probiotics supplementation in PTMR is better to improve the growth performance, feed efficiency and the digestibility of dry matter and crude protein as well as immunity of fattening Hu sheep.Trial 2 Effects of Compound Probiotics on Growth Performance,Nutrients Apparent Digestibility and Blood Parameters of Fattening Hu Sheep Based on Classic TMRThis study aimed to explore the effects of compound probiotics on growth performance, apparent nutrients digestibility and blood biochemical parameters of fattening Hu-sheep in different growing period based on classic TMR.Thirty early stage(21.49 ± 2.11 kg)and thirty latter stage of fattening sheep were selected and randomly divided into two groups, respectively. The treatment groups were supplied with 1 g/kg compound probiotics into total mixed rations, and the basic total mixed ration groups were set as control groups. All the animals were ad libitum and free to water. The animal trials lasted for 45 days, with 7 extra days for adaptation. The results indicated that supplementation of 1 g/kg compound probiotics in classic TMR had no effect on the growth performance and nutrients apparent digestibility of fattening Hu sheep, but increased the serum total protein, globulin concentrations(P<0.05)and decreased ratio of albumin to globulin(P<0.05)in the early stage, and increased serum NEFA and ALP in the latter stage significantly. Thus, compound probiotics in classic TMR had no influence on growth performance and nutrients digestibility, but enhanced the immunity and disease resistance of Hu sheep in the early stage of fattening Hu sheep. In summary, the appropriate amount of compound probiotics in PTMR was 1 g/kg,which significantly improved growth performance and feed efficiency, enhanced dry matter and crude protein digestibility, and increased immunity and disease resistance of growing Hu sheep. The supplementation of 1 g/kg of compound probiotics in classic TMR had no influence on growth performance and nutrients digestibility, but enhanced the immunity of Hu sheep in the early stage of fattening.
