The flower colors of Brassica plants are mainly yellow, light yellow,yellow-orange and white. In nature, the pigments that form petal colors are mainly alkaloids, flavonoids and carotenoids. In this study, the petals of yellow-flowered and white-flowered varieties of Chinese cabbage were used as test materials to explore the main carotenoid types and their contents in petals of different flower colors. Then, transcriptome sequencing was used to analyze the differential genes in the two materials and explored in the cabbage The main forming factors that affect the color. The specific research results are as follows:1.According to the determination and analysis of the carotenoid content,it can be preliminarily inferred that the carotenoid content in the petals affects the difference in the color of the petals of cabbage.Among them, phytoene plays an important role in the formation of yellow petals;in white petals The most influential is lutein, followed by violaxanthin.2.Through the comparative analysis of transcriptome differences and the analysis of differentially expressed genes, the genes affecting the flower color difference of cabbage were initially located in the pathway of "carotenoid biosynthesis".In this study,Huanghua was used as a control group. There were no up-regulated genes in the carotenoid synthesis pathway, and only 5 down-regulated genes were significantly different. Therefore,it is preliminarily inferred that there will be carotenoid synthesis in white petals, but its expression is very low,so the flower color appears white.3.The determination of carotenoid content shows that the carotenoid content in petals affects the color difference of cabbage petals.Combined with transcriptome sequencing,it is preliminarily speculated that the "carotenoid biosynthesis" pathway is an important pathway affecting flower color formation, which is consistent with the determination of carotenoid content.
