| As one of the most important components of the social security system, basic medical insurance is moving forward steadily. In addition to the most basic "universal medical insurance",residents also need more complete and adequate medical insurance. At the same time, the development of medical security for minors is facing a dilemma: social security can only guarantee the basics and the degree of protection is insufficient, the scope of social assistance can be very limited, and commercial medical insurance is only advancing slowly. However,it is worth noting that,as a disadvantaged group of society and the hope of the future of the family and the country, minors must be better protected for their physical and life safety. It is necessary to study how to increase the participation rate of minors in commercial medical insurance.First of all,due to the particularity of the minor groups, most of them have no income, their source of income depends on their parents’ labor income, and they cannot take out insurance by themselves. Therefore,in the study of minors as the main body, the “insurance behavior” will be used.for research. In this article, the behavior of participating in insurance is defined as whether or not a minor is insured and the degree of participation,in which whether to participate in the insurance refers to the possibility of participating in the insurance, and the degree of participation refers to the choice of payment level after participating in the insurance. Then, according to the social reality of the gradual decrease in the number of new populations each year, the gradual increase in the number of elderly people, and the gradual miniaturization of the family scale, this article draws the trend of changes in the family population structure in my country in recent years. And for every minor, their family structure is may encounter risk yield differences at the same time, the ability to deal with sudden accident will also differ,at the same time, the cognition of the unknown risks and the ability to pay insurance cost also is not the same, will inevitably lead to minors in the family business medical insurance behavior is also different. Therefore, from a micro perspective, this paper explores the influence of different family demographics on the participation behavior of minors in commercial medical insurance.Based on the current situation of the demand side and supply side of the commercial medical insurance market for minors, this thesis firstly studies the influence of family population structure on the participation behavior of commercial medical insurance for minors from the theoretical level, and explores its influence mechanism. Then, using the2018 China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)database, the Probit regression model was used to specifically analyze the influence of the juvenile dependency ratio and the elderly dependency ratio in the Family on the participation behavior of minors in commercial medical insurance. The Tobit model was used to analyze the influence of the two factors on the degree of insurance participation. The results showed that,on the whole, the old-age dependency ratio had a significant positive effect on the participation of minors in commercial medical insurance, while the juvenile dependency ratio had a significant negative effect on the participation of minors.Secondly, for families living in rural and urban areas, both of them have no significant impact on the possibility of minors participating in commercial health insurance in rural families, but have significant impact on urban families. In addition, regardless of the family level of high education or low education, the child upbringing ratio has a significant negative effect on the possibility of minors participating in commercial health insurance, but the effect is more significant for families with low education level. However, for families with high education level, the effect of old-age dependency ratio is not significant. Finally,on the basis of the conclusion of the thesis, some suggestions are given from the direction of the insurance company and the government in the hope of improving the participation rate of commercial medical insurance for minors in China. |
