| Objective The types of carotid artery plaques were detected by ultrasound, and the correlation between different types of carotid artery plaques and restenosis after carotid artery stenting was analyzed and discussed by ultrasound. Methods In total of 128 patients were examined by ultrasound before carotid artery stenting, and observe the location, size, echo, morphology and vulnerability of the responsible plaque. All patients were followed up by ultrasound after operation.According to the follow-up results,128 patients were divided into the restenosis group(n=19)and the non-restenosis group(n=109).Univariate analysis was performed firstly, then analyzed the risk factors of restenosis by logistic regression. Results The detection rate of restenosis was 14.84%(19/128)during the follow-up period of 2 to 24 months(median,7 months). The proportion of stenosis PSV,plaque with mixed echo dominated by low echo, plaque with incomplete fibrous cap and plaque with neovascularization in stenosis of restenosis group was more than that of non-restenosis group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that stenosis PSV(B=0.007,HR=1.007,P=0.016),the plaque with mixed echo dominated by low echo(B=1.577,HR=4.840,P=0.021),the plaque with incomplete fibrous cap(B=2.125,HR=8.370,P=0.004)and the plaque with neovascularization(B=1.820,HR=6.173,P=0.018)are the risk factors of restenosis after carotid artery stenting. Conclusion The stenosis PSV,mixed echo plaque dominated by low echo, plaque with incomplete fibrous cap and plaque with neovascularization before CAS can be used to evaluate the risk of restenosis after CAS.It is important to evaluate plaques by ultrasonography comprehensively before CAS to reduce the restenosis rate. |
