ObjectiveTo compare the marginal sealing performance of three kinds of materials,Sonic Fill,Beautifil Flow Plus F00(F00)and Beautifil Flow Plus F03(F03),after preventive filling in orthodontic subtracted premolars,so as to provide theoretical basis for screening preventive filling materials in clinic.MethodsSixty permanent premolars(10 to 12 years old,complete teeth,no enamel hypoplasia,no dental fluorosis,complete apical development,no deformity,no cracks,no caries)extracted in one month in Shenyang Aoxin National Stomatological Hospital due to orthodontic reduction were collected.Soft tissue,blood and odontolith on the surface of teeth were removed and stored at 4 ℃ in normal saline.The modified occlusal surface was used to prepare type I holes,which were 2 mm long,1 mm wide and 1 mm deep.They were randomly divided into three groups: 20 in each group,35% phosphoric acid etched for 30 seconds,washed for 60 seconds,dried by an anhydrous oil-gas gun,single Bond Universal binder was repeatedly applied for 20 seconds,cured by light for 20 seconds,and filled with Sonic Fill,F00 and F03 respectively.Each group of isolated teeth was randomly divided into two groups,10 teeth in each group.Artificial aging experiments were carried out(cold and hot cycle test,cyclic loading test,dyeing,making abrasive discs,observing under laser confocal microscope,and measuring the penetration depth of dyes with software).Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)was used to measure the gap width between filling materials and teeth after grinding,drying and gold spraying.ResultsThe leakage depth of the three materials was measured from small to large in order: F00 group < F03 group < Sonic Fill group,F00 group was lower than F03 group and lower than Sonic Fill group,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Laser confocal microscopy showed that there was almost no dye infiltration in F00 group,with an average dyeing depth of 225.55 μm;dye infiltration in F03 group was between the hole wall and the material,with an average dyeing depth of 668.39 μm;dye infiltration in Sonic Fill group reached the bottom of the hole,with the most dye infiltration and the deepest dyeing depth,with an average dyeing depth of 1597.40μm.Under 350 times scanning electron microscopy,F00 resin and dental tissue showed good marginal closure and bonding interface;Sonic Fill resin and dental tissue had the largest interface gap;F03 resin and dental tissue had the largest interface gap between them.The measurement results of the fissure width between the three bonding materials and enamel were as follows: F00 < F03 < Sonic Fill group,F00 < F03 < Sonic Fill group,F00 < F03 < Sonic Fill group,and the fissure width between F00 and Sonic Fill group was lower than that between F03 and Sonic Fill group,the difference was significant(P < 0.05).Under 1500-fold scanning electron microscopy,it can be seen that F00 resin and enamel are tightly bonded with each other,with only small cracks,with an average crack width of 1.69 μm and a uniform texture of F00 resin.There are cracks between F03 resin and enamel,with an average crack width of 2.59 μm.There are irregular broken resin particles in the cracks.F03 resin is uniform in texture,but there are irregular resin clusters;Sonic Fill resin and enamel are irregular resin clusters.The average width of the crack is 5.54 micron.There are uneven size and shape of resin blocks in the crack,and the Sonic Fill resin texture is uneven.ConclusionsIn this paper,three kinds of resin materials studied in the application of preventive filling,from the point of view of edge sealing,F00 resin performs best.
