Objective: To investigate the mechanism of treating spleen and stomach damp-heat type nasosinusitis with aromatic qingwentongli method based on theoretical analysis and clinical observation, and provide a new strategy for the clinical treatment. Methods: 1.Theoretical study: The relationship between dampness-heat of spleen and stomach and the occurance of nasosinusitis was explored. Moreover, the theoretical basis of the treatment with aromatic qingwentongli method was discussed.2.Clinical study:60 patients who suffering spleen and stomach damp-heat type nasosinusitis were divided into treatment group and control group with 30 cases each.Patients in the treatment group were orally taken qingwentongqiao decoction, and others in the control group were taken biyuanshu oral solution. The course of the treatment lasted 28 days.We observed the changes of nasal symptoms, signs and systemic symptoms before and after treatment. And we also recorded the improvement of the quality of those patients’ life.SPSS22.0 statistical software was used to analyze the data.Based on the statistical analysis,we can draw the relevant conclusions. Results: Statistical analysis showed that the clinical symptoms and signs of the patients in the treatment group and the control group were both significantly improved. The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group. After the treatment, the total efficacy of the two groups was compared(P < 0.05).The difference was statistically significant, and the treatment group was superior to the control group. Moreover, the symptoms and signs of the patients in treatment group showed improvement with a significant difference(P < 0.01).Besides,patients in two groups did not have an adverse reaction. Conclusion: The traditional Chinese medicine based on aromatic qingwentongli method exhibited effective treatment for spleen and stomach damp-heat nasosinusitis. The decoction can effectively eliminate or relieve the patients’ nasal obstruction, purulent snot and headache. The decoction also can reduce the degree of swelling of the nasal mucosa, which would be beneficial to improve the nasal ventilation function and promote the recovery of nasal physiological function, thereby improving the quality of life. Therefore, taking qingwen tongqiao decoction is a safe and effective chronic rhinosinusitis therapy.
