Object: To observe the effect of electro-acupuncture and general acupuncture on sudden sensorineural hearing loss(hepatobiliary fire type)on the hearing threshold and clinical symptoms of the patients, and to compare the curative effect,to provide a therapeutic idea and method for the clinical treatment of sudden sensorineural hearing loss of hepatobiliary fire type. Methods:A randomed digital table method was used to divide 62 patients who met the criteria of sudden sensorineural hearing loss of hepatobiliary fire type into the observation group(n=31)and the control group(n=31)with electro-acupuncture and general acupuncture respectively. After 4 courses of continuous treatment, the two groups of patients were observed before and after treatment hearing threshold level,TCM symptoms quantitative score and grading results, safety, and compared.Results:1.Clinical effect:the total effective rate of the control group was 73.33%,the total effective rate of the observation group was 93.33%,and the clinical effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.01);2.Deafness degree and therapeutic effect:There was obvious correlation between different deafness degree and therapeutic effect in the observation group(P<0.01)and there was no correlation in the control group(P>0.05).Combined with the healing rate, the effect of the observation group was the best for mild patients and the worst for severe deafness and total deafness. The curative effect of the observation group and the control group in the treatment of moderately deaf patients was significantly different(P < 0.01).3.Hearing threshold:there were significant differences in the average hearing threshold between the observation group and the control group after treatment and before treatment(P < 0.01).There was no difference in the average hearing threshold between the two groups after treatment(P >0.05).4.Syndrome score and grade:there were significant differences between the observation group and the control group in the scores of hearing loss, tinnitus, ear stuffy, vertigo, subjective sensory self-rating and total score before and after treatment(P<0.01).After treatment, there were differences in the scores of tinnitus, ear stuffy, subjective sensory self-score,total score, and the quantitative grade of deafness between the observation group and the control group(P < 0.05).5.Safety observation:no halo needle, peripheral nerve injury, hematoma and other events occurred in the two groups.Conclusion:Electro-acupuncture is better than general acupuncture in the treatment of sudden sensorineural hearing loss of hepatobiliary fire type, especially in improving moderate deafness.Electro-acupuncture can reduce the level of hearing threshold of patients, and can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine,it is worth popularizing in clinical use.
