Clinical Study Of Serum IL-1β,IL-6,TNF-α Levels In Adolescent Schizophrenia | | Posted on:2022-06-07 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:X Zhou | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2504306335952249 | Subject:Mental Illness and Mental Health | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective: The study monitors the changes of serum IL-1β,IL-6and TNF-α levels in aripiprazole monotherapy in adolescent schizophrenia.And explore the correlation between the levels of serum IL-1β,IL-6,TNF-α and psychotic symptoms in adolescent schizophrenia.Also investigate the feasibility of serum cytokines as biomarkers of schizophrenia.Methods: In the study,91 adolescents with schizophrenia were enrolled.All patients were assigned to study group.The study group was treated with aripiprazole mono therapy for eight weeks and followed up.In addition,psychiatric symptoms were assessed by PANSS for prior to treatment,4 weeks after treatment and 8 weeks after treatment.All three samples of serum from the elbow vein were taken.The control group included 90 healthy local primary and secondary school students who were recruited.For the control group,we collected fasting blood glucose samples at the date of entry.The serum samples were refrigerated.After sampling,serums of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α were measured through ELISA.All records were entered into SPSS 26.0 for statistical analysis.Results: 91 adolescent schizophrenic patients were enrolled in this study.5 of them were dropped out,and 86 were included in the statistical analysis.90 cases of the control group were collected blood samples.No significant difference was found between the study group and the control group about demographic data.(1)Prior to therapy,serum levels of IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α in the study group were higher.After treatment,the levels of cytokine serums were lower than those before treatment.However,the serum level of IL-6was still higher than the control.(2)Prior to therapy,serum IL-1β level was positively correlated with negative score.Serum level of IL-6 was positively correlated with positive score and negatively correlated with negative score.Serum level of TNF-α was negatively correlated with positive score and positively correlated with negative score.(3)After the 8th week,serum IL-1β was positively correlated with positive score and negatively correlated with negative score.Serum TNF-α was positively correlated with total score and positively correlated with negative score.(4)After the 4th week,there was no correlation between serum cytokine change rate and PANSS reduction rate.But after the 8th week,there was a positive correlation between the change rate and the reduction rate of positive symptoms.Conclusion:(1)Serum IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α levels in adolescent schizophrenia are higher than those in healthy people.With the reduction of psychotic symptoms,serum cytokine levels gradually approached healthy people.Wherein the serum IL-6 level may be a quality marker of schizophrenia.(2)Serum cytokine levels are significantly related to the clinical symptoms in adolescent schizophrenia.The serum TNF-α level may be a characteristic marker of negative symptoms in schizophrenia.Serum IL-1β and IL-6 levels may be related to the onset of schizophrenia.(3)Changes in serum IL-1β level may indicate a therapeutic effect of positive symptoms in adolescent schizophrenia.(4)Immune inflammatory mechanisms may also play a role in adolescent schizophrenia.Serum cytokine levels may be used to guide the clinical diagnosis and treatment of adolescent schizophrenia. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Cytokine, Schizophrenia, Aripiprazole, Adolescent | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
