Clinical Study Of Taohong Banlou Decoction In The Treatment Of Senile Atrial Fibrillation With Phlegm And Blood Stasis

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Taohong Banlou Decoction in treating senile atrial fibrillation with phlegm-blood stasis syndrome and explore its mechanism.Methods: 64 elderly patients with atrial fibrillation with phlegm-blood stasis syndrome were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,with 32 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,while the experimental group was treated with Taohong Banlou Decoction on the basis of the control group.The course of treatment was 4 weeks.The changes of disease curative effect,TCM syndrome integral,average ventricular rate,conversion rate,left atrial diameter,left ventricular ejection fraction,D-dimer and six-minute walking distance were observed before and after treatment.Results: The total effective rates of the experimental group and the control group were 87.50% and 71.88%,respectively.The curative effect of the experimental group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).In the aspect of TCM syndrome curative effect,the total effective rate of the experimental group was 81.25%,while that of the control group was 62.50%,which was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.01).The total score of TCM syndrome,average ventricular rate and 6-minute walking distance in the experimental group were significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.01),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in reducing the left atrial diameter before and after treatment(P>0.05).In terms of conversion rate,the conversion rate of the experimental group was 25%,while that of the control group was 9.38%.The experimental group had more advantages than the control group.In terms of single symptom of TCM,the curative effect of the experimental group on palpitation,vomiting,sputum and cyanosis of lips was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.01),and the curative effect on chest tightness,chest pain,sticky mouth,heavy limbs,anorexia and distention was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).There were no obvious adverse reactions and events during the whole experiment,and the safety level of this study was Grade 1.Conclusion: Taohong Banlou Decoction can obviously improve the symptoms of patients;It can better convert sinus rhythm and reduce and control ventricular rate;It can improve the left ventricular ejection fraction and prolong the walking distance of six minutes,so it can improve the patient’s heart function and exercise tolerance to a certain extent;In addition,it also has the effect of reducing D-dimer.Therefore,Taohongbanlou Decoction is effective and safe in treating senile atrial fibrillation with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome,and is worthy of clinical promotion.
