Objective:In order to understand the growth and development and nutritional status of preschool children in Laizhou,we investigated the incidence and main reasons of malnutrition in preschool children,compared the incidence in urban and rural areas.This study provides an important basis for preventing malnutrition in preschool children in Laizhou.Methods:From March to November 2018,200 kindergartens were selected as observation objects from 16 towns.A total of 17,593 preschool children were measured and evaluated by medical staff uniformly trained by Laizhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital.Statistics of premature children with malnutrition,abnormal vision,dental caries,rickets,and obesity.In order to find out the cause of malnutrition in preschool children in Laizhou,the self-made "Laizhou Preschool Children Nutrition Questionnaire" was used to collect information.The content of the questionnaire mainly includes the following:general status of birth of preschool children:including height,weight,premature birth,child birth season,delivery methods,etc.of preschool children,family status of preschool children:parental education level,family income,feeding status,Number of children in the family,dietary issues,health education,etc.Univariate analysis is expressed by(%),using χ2 test;non-conditional multiple logistic regression analysis is used for statistically significant factors in univariate analysis;malnutrition is described using 95%confidence interval(95%Cl);test level α=0.05.Results:Among the 17,593 preschool children,there were 9,449 male children,accounting for 53.71%of the total,and 8,144 female children,accounting for 46.29%of the total.Among them,there are 5459 people in cities and towns,accounting for 31.03%of the total,and 12,134 people in rural areas,accounting for 68.97%of the total.There are more rural preschool children in Laizhou than in urban areas.The prevalence of malnutrition in preschool children in Laizhou is 6.78%,the prevalence of malnutrition in urban preschool children is 5.63%,and the prevalence of malnutrition in rural preschool children is 7.30%.The prevalence of malnutrition among preschool children in urban and rural areas of Laizhou City was statistically different(P<0.001).The prevalence of malnutrition in preschool children in cities is related to children’s birth weight(P<0.05),breastfeeding(P<0.05),mother education(P<0.001),father education(P<0.001),and dietary problems(P<0.001),health education(P<0.001),prevalence of malnutrition in rural preschool children,mothers’ delivery methods(P<0.05),breastfeeding(P<0.05),mother education(P<0.001),father education(P<0.001),economic income(P<0.001),dietary problems(P<0.001),and health education(P<0.05)were related.Conclusions:The prevalence of malnutrition in preschool children in Laizhou is 6.78%,the prevalence of malnutrition in urban preschool children is 5.63%,and the prevalence of malnutrition in rural preschool children is 7.30%.The main causes of malnutrition in preschool children in Laizhou Incentives include:child’s birth weight,breastfeeding,mother’s education,father’s education,dietary problems,health education,mothers’ delivery methods,and economic income.
