Objective:To understand the current situation of self-perceived burden, coping style and quality of life of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy,to investigate the correlation between self-perceived burden, coping style and quality of life of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy,to analyze the factors influencing the quality of life of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, and to provide some theoretical basis for improving the quality of life of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select 200 CSR patients attending the Affiliated Hospital of Yan’an University and Yan’an People’s Hospital from May 2020 to January 2021 to investigate patients’ general information,self-perceived burden, coping style, and quality of life, and Pearson correlation analysis of the correlation between self-perceived burden, coping style, and quality of life.Results:(1)Self-perceived burden in CSR patients: no significant burden in 30 cases(15.00%),mild burden in 47 cases(23.50%),moderate burden in 70 cases(35.00%),and severe burden in 53 cases(26.50%).(2)Patient coping: avoidance coping(14.41±2.57),submission coping(10.37±2.21),and confrontation coping(17.65±2.33).(3)The results of univariate analysis showed that the differences in patients’ quality of life scores were statistically significant(P<0.05)by age, education level, residence, type of occupation, monthly per capita household income, mode of health care payment, number of visits, and type of comorbidity.Multiple stepwise regression analysis using SPSS showed that the variables of patients’ pain level, monthly household income, marital status, number of visits, and types of comorbidities entered the regression model.(4)Pearson correlation analysis showed that self-perceived burden, avoidance, and submission coping styles were negatively correlated with quality of life, and confronting coping styles were positively associated with quality of life in CSR patients(P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)Patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy had a moderate level of self-perceived burden, coping styles mostly used yielding coping, and the median quality of life was 34.53,which was poorer compared to the general population.(2)Self-perceived burden, avoidance and submission coping were negatively correlated with quality of life in patients with neurogenic cervical spine, and confrontation coping was positively correlated with quality of life.(3)Factors affecting quality of life in patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were pain level, monthly household income, marital status, number of visits, and types of comorbidities.
