Varicose veins of lower extremities are one of the most common vascular surgical diseases, with an incidence of up to 30%.Varicose veins of lower extremities are not only an independent disease, but also a clinical manifestation that may be caused by different causes. The early manifestations of varicose veins of the lower extremities are sore distension and discomfort of the limbs and tortuous superficial veins, and skin itching, pigmentation, lipid sclerosis and even skin ulcers may occur in the progressive period. In clinic, color Doppler ultrasound(CUD),computed tomography venography(CTV),magnetic resonance venography(MRV)and venography(DSA)are often used to diagnose, differentiate and guide the treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities. At present, the traditional surgical treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities is still the main treatment in our country, but in recent years, minimally invasive treatments such as intracavitary thermal ablation and intracavitary chemical ablation have been gradually promoted and achieved good results. This article mainly summarizes the research progress of diagnosis, differential diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins of lower extremities in recent years.
