Objective:To explore the clinical effect of Mountain-Burning Fire Acupuncture to Zhongliao acupoints in the treatment of anal inc ontinence, and to compare with the effect of ordinary acupuncture,in order to find a more effective treatment program of traditional Chin ese medicine characteristics for the clinical acupuncture treatment of anal incontinence. Methods:In a randomized controlled study,56 patients with anal incontinence who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group(28 cases in the mountain fire acupuncture group)and the control group(28 cases in the ordinary acupuncture group).Patients in both groups were treated once a day,10 times as a course of treatment. The Cleveland Fecal Incontinence Score(Wexner scoring system),St Marks anal incontinence score and anal incontinence quality of life score of 2 groups before and after treatment and follow-up period were observed, and the overall clinical response rate was compared. Results:In terms of fecal incontinence scores in Cleveland Clinic, there were statistically significant differences in scores before and after treatment between the two groups(all P<0.05),After treatment and 3 months of follow-up,there were statistically significant differences in scores between the two groups(all P<0.05),suggesting that in terms of improvement in scores, the treatment group had a better effect than the control group. As for the scores of anal incontinence in St.Marks, there were statistically significant differences between the scores before and after treatment in the two groups(all P<0.05).After treatment and 3 months of follow-up,there were statistically significant differences in scores between the two groups(all P<0.05),suggesting that in terms of improvement in scores, the treatment group had a better effect than the control group. In terms of anal incontinence quality of life score(FIQL),there were statistically significant differences in scores before and after treatment in the two groups(all P<0.05).After treatment and 3 months of follow-up,there were statistically significant differences in scores between the two groups(all P<0.05),suggesting that in terms of improvement in scores, the treatment group had a better effect than the control group. In terms of effective rate, the total effective rate was 96.43%in the treatment group and 89.29%in the control group. There was no significant difference in the effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The application of Mountain-Burning Fire Acupuncture to Zhongliao acupoints has a significant effect on the improvement of the clinical symptoms of anal incontinence, and its curative effect is obviously better than that of traditional ordinary acupuncture treatment.
