Objective:According to the Yuan-Luo collateral-acupoint theory,Blood oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance imagine(BOLD-fMRI)was used to collect and observe the changes of real-time brain activation signals, and the Amplitude of Low Frequency Fluctuation(ALFF)index in the resting state brain region before and after acupuncture in combination with acupuncture at the Yuan acupoint-Chongyang and the Luo acupoint-Fenglong of the right Foot-yangming stomach meridian. To analyze the characteristics of activated brain regions caused by acupoints in the combined acupuncture group of Chongyang and Fenglong, and to expound the correlation between acupoints in the acupuncture group and its main treatment.Changes of the ALLF value before and after acupuncture was compared, and then the lasting effect of acupuncture was evaluated. Methods:A total of 18 healthy right-handed graduate students in Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine were selected as the subjects of this study.Using the PHILIPS 3.0T dual source dual gradient magnetic resonance scanner to collect the brain Bold image data of acupuncturing the Yuan acupoint-Chongyang and and the Luo acupoint-Fenglong of the Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming.The image data were processed and analyzed by a bunch of professional software packages which were SPM12,DPASFA and xjView. At last, the location of the brain activation areas, voxel value, activation degree and ALFF value changes before and after acupuncture were obtained.Results:1.Compared with single point acupuncture, the positive brain regions induced by acupoint acupuncture in Chongyang and Fenglong groups including left Cerebellum Post,Frontal Inf(BA47,BA45),Occipital Mid(BA31),Angular(BA39),Cingulate Post(BA23),Precuneus(BA13);the right cerebellum posterior lobe,Caudate, middle frontal gyrus.2.Compared with single point acupuncture, acupuncture combined with Chongyang and Fenglong acupoints showed no obvious negative brain activation.3.Compared with before acupuncture, the brain regions with the increase of resting state ALFF value after acupuncture in Chongyang and Fenglong groups mainly including, both left and right Precuneus, middle Cingulate gyrus,Posterior Cingulate gyrus.4.Compared with before acupuncture, the brain regions with the decrease of resting state ALFF value after acupuncture in Chongyang and Fenglong groups mainly including,Temporal Inf R,Temporal Sup R,Angular L.Conclusion:1.Compared with acupuncture at single point, the specific brain activation areas in Chongyang and Fenglong groups were frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, and part of both limbic system and basal ganglion network. The activated brain regions are the result of the reintegration and distribution of brain functions.2.Acupuncture in Chongyang and Fenglong acupoints activated the functional areas of the brain closely related to the clinical treatment of gastric meridian. In addition, the effects of acupoints on visual and cognitive brain functional areas in the acupoints group may be the embodiment of the combined effects of acupoints.3.There were abnormal changes in ALFF value in multiple brain regions after acupuncture in Chongyang and Fenglong acupoints.Which were related to the clinical treatment of stomach meridian, indicating that acupuncture effect still existed after acupuncture removal and may last for a while.
