The Stylistic Analysis Of Vocabulary In Medical Chinese Textbooks

Guided by the theories of stylistics,systemic linguistics,domain linguistics and Chinese for specific purpose,this paper studies the vocabulary of medical Chinese textbook from a stylistic perspective using inductive,statistical and comparative methods,analyzes the context of medical Chinese,and describes the peripheral words of medical Chinese,the circle style words of medical Chinese and the core words of medical Chinese.The main conclusions are as follows:First,the medical Chinese context is mainly based on the medical context,supplemented by the daily communication context.It mainly takes the hospital as the communication situation,the medical personnel,the patient,the patient’s family and their related personnel as the communication object,the medical activity and the medical knowledge as the communication content,to learn medical knowledge and acquire Chinese communicative competence in medical context as the goal,has the industry,the profession,the practice,the service and the comprehensive characteristics.Second,the number of peripheral words in medical Chinese is the largest,accounting for 50.96%,mostly nouns and verbs.Restricted by medical Chinese context,nouns mainly refer to object nouns and verbs are action verbs.According to the semantic content expressed,object nouns can be divided into 8 categories: production and necessities of life,cultural knowledge and so on.The super-class vocabulary of medical Chinese peripheral words is relatively high,reaching 41.21.According to its semantic category,it can be divided into four categories: action change vocabulary,nature state vocabulary,daily affairs vocabulary,time,place and orientation vocabulary.Superclass words can be classified into medical semantic fields in the sense category,and are mostly needed for Chinese communication among medical students.Third,the circle style words of medical Chinese are composed of non-medical special style words and popular medical stylistic words,accounting for 13.34% of the total.Restricted by the comprehensive characteristics of medical Chinese context,non-medical special style words contains a certain number of biological,chemical and other specialized words of adjacent disciplines and stylistic words of religious,folk beliefs and other fields.Popular medical stylistic words are the medical vocabulary in people’s daily life,which are mainly composed of five semantic fields: body disease words,drug names,medical experts and medical books,methods of diagnosis and treatment,medical idioms.Fourth,the core words of medical Chinese are the key and difficult points for foreign students majoring in medicine.They are mainly composed of human body,diagnosis,treatment,medical device and management,accounting for 35.70% which are mostly nouns.The syllables are mainly disyllabic and polysyllabic,and have the characteristics of objectivity,precision and stability.
