Objective: The study analyzes the distribution of gene polymorphisms of folate metabolism-related enzymes in women of childbearing age in Chaoshan area,and clarifies the relationship between the gene polymorphisms of folate metabolism-related enzymes and spontaneous abortion,and provides theoretical basis for preventing spontaneous abortion and guiding prenatal and postnatal care for women of childbearing age in Chaoshan region.Methods: The study collects the data of patients who had planned to become pregnant again and had a history of spontaneous abortion in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College from May 2020 to March 2021.The trial was divided into a study group and a control group;the study group had 64 cases,abortion ≥ 1 time,60 cases of normal pregnancy control group,the peripheral blood of the patients was drawn for the 677 and 1298 loci of the MTHFR gene,and the genotype detection of the 66 locus of the MTRR gene.Using retrospective analysis and research methods,the relationship between the distribution differences of wild-type,heterozygous and homozygous at 3gene loci of the two groups of women and the relationship between spontaneous abortion was compared.Results: The demographic difference between the two groups was not significant.A significant difference in the heterozygous CT and homozygous TT genotypes of MTHFR C677 T in the study group was observed(P<0.05).There were not statistically different of the difference in the frequency of AC and CC genotypes of MTHFR A1298 C between two groups(P > 0.05).The MTHFR 677CT/1298 AC compound genotype in the study group had a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The AG and GG genotype frequencies of MTRR A66 G were not statistically different(P>0.05).The number of MTHFR gene mutations in the study group was significantly different between two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions: MTHFR C677 T gene polymorphisms,including heterozygous mutations(CT)and homozygous mutations(TT)can increase the risk of spontaneous abortion.Both MTHFR A1298 C gene polymorphisms including heterozygous mutations(AC)and homozygous mutations(CC),and the MTRR A66 G gene polymorphisms including heterozygous mutations(AG)and homozygous mutations(GG)do not increase the risk of spontaneous abortion.MTHFR 677CT/1298 AC compound genotype heterozygous mutations increase the risk of spontaneous abortion.
