Species Diversity Of Cantharellus (Cantharellaceae,Cantharellales) From Tropical China And The Preparation Of C. Tuberculosporus Chewable Tablets

Species of Cantharellus Adans.ex Fr.(Cantharellaceae,Cantharellales)are interesting and important for their medicinal properties and the edibility of many species.Among of the genus,C.tuberculosporus M.Zang from China is famous for having important medical value,such as improving eyesight,benefits to lung,good for gastrointestinal function,and so on.Regular intake the fruit bodies of C.tuberculosporus can prevent vison loss,ocular conjunctivitis,night blindness,dry skin and mucous membrane loss of secretory function.It can also resist the digestive tract and respiratory tract infection and cancer,etc.what is more,these fungi have long edible history in our country.Therefore,an in-depth research on these species resources in tropical China was conducted in this paper,and the development of chewable tablets from the potential specie was carried out.Base on field investigations and specimen collections,the DNA of 32 specimens was extracted,and then were amplified with polymerase chain reaction(PCR)method.The TEF-1gene fragment sequence was obtained for the construction of molecular phylogenetic tree.The Cantharellus specie was identified based on morphological characters including basidiospore,basidium,and pileipellis,and so on.The raw material of chewable tablets was selected from the fungi of Cantharellus from tropical China with resources evaluation method.The citric acid and orange essence were adopted as flavoring agent,while the mannitol and dextrin as auxiliary material.The tablets were made by wet tableting method.The recip of Cantharellus chewable tablets was further optimized with response surface methodology method.There are at least 9Cantharellus species in tropical China which four of them,viz.C.hygrophorus S.C.Shao et al.、C.phloginus S.C.Shao & P.G.Liu、C.tuberculosporus M.Zang,and C.yunnanensis W.F.Chiu are described species in the previous studies,and the other five are new to science,viz.C.aequus sp.nov.,C.bellus sp.nov.,C.hainanensis sp.nov.,C.scyphus sp.nov.and C.yinggelingenis sp.nov.,respectively.Due to the large fruit bodies,abundant resources and long edible history,the C.tuberculosporus was selected as the raw material of chewable tablets.The crushing degree of fruit body from C.tuberculosporus is controlled to be 120 mesh,and the addition amount of fruit body from C.tuberculosporus and citric acid are 12.5% and 1.5%respectively.The ratio of mannitol to dextrin is 1:1.The delicious chewable tablets with sweet and sour tastes can be produced using the ethanol binder mixed with both magnesium stearate(1% particle mass percentage)and orange essence.There are abundant resources of Cantharellus in tropical China,and their fruit bodies are favorable for the development of high value added product,such as chewable tablets.
