On Translation Of Yu Qiuyu’s Prose From Aesthetic Perspective

Nowadays,prose literature flourishes and excellent prose writers keep emerging.As a milestone figure in the field of Chinese prose writing,Yu Qiuyu applies extraordinary style of writing and near-perfect expression to give full play to the beauty of prose.However,English translation versions of Yu’s prose are rare at home and abroad and there are few aesthetic researches on such versions.Using relevant aesthetic theories,this paper tries to study the aesthetics of English translation of Yu’s prose which has unique and distinctive features by comparing Chinese and English versions of Quest for Chinese Culture written by Yu Qiuyu from the perspectives of aesthetic constitution,parallelism and rhythm in pursuit of the aesthetic value of English translation of Yu’s prose.The paper consists of preface,literature review,three main chapters and conclusion.Preface introduces relevant translatology and discusses step by step from prose,aesthetics of prose and aesthetics of Yu’s prose;literature review looks at related academic background and proposal of this subject.Chapter Ⅲ takes aesthetic constitution as an entry point of aesthetic inquiry to analyze Yu’s prose and its translation from formal system and non-formal system.Chapter IV studies aesthetics manifestation in Yu’s prose in terms of conciseness under the guidance of the functional theory.Chapter V discusses the beauty of the English translation version of Yu’s prose in terms of parallelism and rhythm.The conclusion part summarizes the main research results,points out the problems and weaknesses in the research and gives suggestions for future researchers.
