| In today’s society,the movement of people across borders is one of the phenomena that stand for globalization in the international community.People’s cross-border movements are intertwined with different races,religions,languages,and living habits,and contribute to the creation of a multicultural space.Thinking so,at present,the expansion of international population in scale and geographical spread both are the current manifestations of the international community.Since modern times,a real sense of international immigration of the overseas Chinese has started from the industrial revolution in Europe in the 19th century.The overseas Chinese communities in Yokohama and Incheon formed after the opening of ports in Japan(1853)and South Korea(1876).The overseas Chinese communities in Yokohama and Incheon have achieved remarkable achievements and significant development in the process of internationalization and the expansion of the living space of the overseas Chinese themselves,with the goal of inheriting the traditional Chinese culture.They are valuable Chinatowns recognized by world.This thesis focuses on the overseas Chinese schools in Yokohama and Incheon,and investigates the migration of overseas Chinese,the formation and development of an overseas Chinese community,and the education of overseas Chinese communities since the opening of the ports in Yokohama and the Korean Peninsula in modern times.And importantly,understand the establishment and development process of the Overseas Chinese Schools,and the spread of Chinese culture.Secondly,by investigating and analyzing the process of the establishment and changes of overseas Chinese schools in Yokohama and Incheon in modern times,everyone gains a better understanding of the process of inheritance and evolution of Chinese culture in East Asian and overseas Chinese.Through investigation and research,the thesis draws the following conclusions.First,the overseas Chinese schools in modern Yokohama(1897)and Incheon(1902),although teaching Chinese culture,promoting the spirit of the Chinese nation,learning Chinese as a national language,inheriting and even spreading Chinese culture,are still exploring new education model for the development of overseas Chinese schools according to the international situation.Secondly,the purpose of overseas Chinese education also focuses on Chinese education as a foundation to realize personal identity.Thirdly,the overseas Chinese schools in Yokohama and Incheon have formed many different characteristics due to the regional characteristics of the schools.In short,in terms of instruction language,the overseas Chinese schools in Yokohama mainly use Cantonese,while the overseas Chinese schools in Incheon adopt Beijing dialects.In addition,this thesis also surveys the overseas Chinese schools in Yokohama and Incheon based on the characteristics of the school’s size,number of students,educational activities,and educational content.The overseas Chinese schools founded in Yokohama and Incheon at the end of the 19th century serve as a platform for overseas Chinese in China and South Korea to make a huge contribution to the inheritance and spread of Chinese culture.At the same time,it also had a profound impact on the history of education in overseas Chinese all over the world,and even played a great role in the modernization of education in China as the motherland. |
