Ethical Controversy And Philosophical Reflection On Editing Of Human Germline Genome

The ethical topic brought by gene editing technology of heritable germline is not a new topic,which has aroused a series of debates since the end of last century.Since 2015,the development and progress of gene editing has produced great scientific experimental results,and people’s attitude towards this is not as optimistic as that of developing science and technology.Especially when the scalpel of gene editor extends to human genetic germ cells,the ethical alarm begins to ring.The controversial ethical disputes are thought-provoking,but in fact,we should also see the basic philosophical problems behind the disputes.A clear understanding of these basic philosophical problems will help us to put forward more scientific countermeasures.Based on the analysis of the ethical disputes of different attitudes caused by gene editing of human reproductive system,this paper concludes that cautious attitude is the best choice for gene editing technology and stable and healthy development of human society in the future.This paper mainly analyzes the different controversial attitudes caused by the publication of scientific experiment results of human reproduction Department editors,including the optimism represented by George church,the opposition represented by Habermas and the cautious represented by Qiu Renzong.At the same time,the author also enumerates four kinds of philosophical issues behind the ethical disputes of gene editing of human reproductive system.It includes the ontological and moral status of embryo,the right of parents to bear and the future right of children,intergenerational and eugenics issues.At the end of the paper,the author points out the importance of public participation and ethical governance of gene editing technology in laboratories,government organizations and other aspects.Only by analyzing the level of gene editing technology,following the existing reasonable principles,combining with the actual situation of domestic science and technology development,can we formulate and implement strict and effective supervision and management mechanism to ensure the safety of the experiment Effective implementation is the way to make gene editing technology better benefit human beings.
