| This report is based on the translation of Liberal Arts Education.Liberal Arts Education is written by Yang Fujia,published by Fudan University Press.This translation report selects the culture-loaded words in the book and analyzes the characteristics of the Chinese original text and the effects it can achieve by adopting three translation strategies,that is,philological translation,hetero-functional translation and homologous translation,so as to carry forward Chinese culture,as well as provide some reference for domestic translators and those who are willing to learn translation.This report consists of five parts.The first part is an introduction to translation task,in which the author gives an overall introduction to Liberal Arts Education and elaborates on the significance of translating this book to Chinese education.The second part describes preparatory work,which shows readers the work that the author does in the translation of Liberal Arts Education.The third part introduces“Function Plus Loyalty” Theory when analyzing the problems met in translation of the material.The fourth part is case analysis,in which the author gives many examples concerning the translation of culture-loaded words using three translation strategies.For each example,the author analyzes its main difficulty and her solution for its translation.The fifth part draws a conclusion for this report.Through the analysis of culture-loaded words,translation and its expected effect,this report hopes to provide more choices for domestic translators to reflect on and those who are interested in learning translation. |
