An Analysis Of The Practice Of Practical Text Under The Guidance Of "Function Plus Loyalty" Theory

With the advancement of economic globalization,more and more international products are pouring into Chinese market.Many overseas companies devoted to medical equipment and instruments are seeking active cooperation with China,which to some extent can be very critical to the development of China's medical industry.This thesis is one of the technological product manuals which belong to a practical style,aiming at conveying scientific knowledge and information to make the readers know the features of some product,with the characteristics of accuracy,objectiveness and brevity which are fully embodied in the vocabulary,sentences and text.On the basis of the skopos theory,the Germany translator and scholar Christiane Nord further proposed the concept of loyalty,and stressed that readers from different cultures focused more on the structure and content of the text itself,the translator should fully understand the intent of the original author and then transfer it correctly in the target language to the target receivers so as to achieve the translation that crossed the cultural differences.Her “function plus loyalty principle" also provided a wholly new point of departure for the research of the thesis.This thesis is based on the translation of Stellant CT inject.The translator firstly explains the functions and the text characteristics of the product manual,then introduces the cooperative principle adopted as the guiding principle of this translation.In the body part of this thesis,the author analyzes some specific cases in product manual to explain the exact translation strategies utilized in this thesis.
