| The ability to speak at level 5 in compulsory education English curriculum standard(2011)clearly requires that students are able to express their opinions on simple information in a natural and appropriate tone,communicate information with others,and correct their oral expression.But in the remote township junior high school,the spoken language teaching status is still relatively backward,far away from the standard requirements.The purpose of this study is to stimulate junior high school students’ interest in oral English learning and improve their oral English level by applying the group cooperative learning model to oral English class,so as to make junior high school students’ oral English level meet the requirements of the curriculum standard.In this study,58 students from class 3,grade 9 were used as experimental subjects,and 56 students from class 2,grade 9 were used as controls.Based on the survey of the oral English learning of grade 9 students,the author analyzes the problems and their causes in the current oral English teaching by means of questionnaire and interview.In view of the existing problems,the author makes use of the group study method of team mutual assistance and the pair study method of peer mutual assistance to carry out cooperative learning in morning reading,evening self-study and daily classroom activities.And the use of foreign teachers’ teaching to improve the accuracy of oral English in cooperative learning.Divide the group scientifically and carry out group construction,determine cooperative tasks according to the unit topic,make timely evaluation and carry out teaching experiments in an orderly manner.After the experiment,the oral test results of the experimental class were significantly higher than those of the control class,which fully showed that the practice of oral English in the form of group cooperation for students was more effective in improving students’ oral ability than the traditional oral English teaching mode focusing on reading and reciting.The students’ sense of cooperation and ability have been improved to some extent,and their oral English level has also been greatly improved.The comprehensive professional level of teachers has made remarkable progress. |
