| Affected by the test-oriented education,teachers in junior high school English teaching pay more attention to how to improve students’ grammar,reading and writing abilities,while neglecting oral English teaching.But as a language,oral ability is very important,especially under the influence of the current economic globalization,English has been widely used in work.However,in current English teaching some teachers still focus on how to teach students get good grades in exams and ignore the oral practice.Some teachers believe that English teaching is a static knowledge transfer rather than skill transfer,and some teachers do not pay attention to English teaching strategies.As a result,students have higher English test scores,but their ability to use English is lower,and their overall quality has not been greatly improved.This paper aims to explore a kind of teaching method that can fully demonstrate the quality-oriented education on the basis of cooperative learning in groups,and makes use of dynamic factors in teaching to enable students to improve their learning ability and helps teachers to complete the teaching goals effectively.It also hopes that students will gain the maximum knowledge of English in the group activities and improve their ability.This study selects two parallel classes of grade eight in School Attached to Huazhong Agricultural University as objects,and conducts cooperative learning experiments in English teaching.During the experimental classes and control classes using different English teaching mode:the former using student-centered cooperative learning English teaching model,which uses the traditional teacher centered English teaching mode,finally the research results were analyzed and discussed.The main purpose is to study two questions:first,whether the group cooperative learning mode can significantly improve students’ performance;second,whether the group cooperative learning mode can significantly affect students’ learning attitude.The research shows that:(1)group cooperative learning can significantly improve students’ academic performance;(2)group cooperative learning can affect students’ learning attitude and make the learning attitude change to a more favorable direction to improve performance.Finally,the paper puts forward some suggestions on the application of group cooperative learning mode in junior middle school English teaching.First,it is necessary to establish a scientific cooperative learning group;second,it is necessary to cultivate students’ cooperation awareness and skills;third,it is necessary to integrate the content of cooperative teaching;Fourth,it is necessary to establish a reasonable evaluation mechanism. |
