Before the great social revolution in the late Qing Dynasty,there?s no record of “Mo Xia” in the history books,nor is there any record of the relationship between Xia and the Mohism.In modern times,with the cultural atmosphere of saving the country through statecraft,as well as the Mohist pursuit and chivalrous advocacy,as a consequence,“Mo Xia” came into people’s view.Subsequently,a series of discussions on "Mo Xia" were conducted in the academic circles,but in this series of studies,"Mo Xia" sometimes refers to the Mohism,and sometimes to the Mo Zi,Xia,chivalrous people and so on.That makes people wonder who and what " Mo Xia" really is.It can be traced back to recent times,we can see that " Mo Xia" was born.As represented by Kang Youwei,Liang Qichao,Lu Xun,Hou Wailu and other scholars,they are bold and unconventional in their arguments,and strive to promote Xia originated from Mohism,or Mohismoriginatedfrom Xia or Xia and Mohismare no differencies,so as to save the nation through the spirit of Xia and Mohism.It is not a fact that Xia and Mohism are related,and the " Mo Xia" that based on the theory of that Xia and Mohism have a relationship does not exist.They exist only in the background of a time of national ruin.Scholars were forced to make choicesin the double predicament of the image and the stain.By comparing the theories of the two,it can also prove that there is no existence of " Mo Xia",and the popular theory of Xia and Mohism intimacy from the late Qing Dynasty is wrong.Although the spirits and ideas of the two schools of Xia and Mohism have some overlaps,there are huge differences in the starting points,ideals of life,lifestyles,and political roles of the two behaviors.The Mohism advocates "universal love","non-attack","honor wisdom","identification with the superior","thrift","simple burials","anti-music","heaven’s will" and "knowing ghosts",and Xia often respect private love,force,power,wealth,revenge,breaking the laws of the ruling class.By examining the historical relationship between the two,it can further prove that Xia and Mohism have nothing to do with each other and "Mo Xia" does not exist.Since the coincidence of the chronological rise and fall of Xia and Mohism cannot constitute cause and effect,the decline of the Mohistschool is not the reason for the prosperity of Xia in the Han dynasties,and the spirit and thought of the Mo histschool is not the main component of the culture of Xia in later times.Therefore,by sorting out the construction path of the intimacy theory of Xia and Mohism,comparing the theoretical differences between Xia and Mohism,and denying the cause and effect relationshipbetween Xia and Mohism.it can be determined that "Mo Xia" is constructed in the "untrue" Xia and Mohism intimacy theory and it is a false existence.But "Mo Xia" can be thought about,seen,used and discussed exists,but it is not an object individual that people mistakenly thought existed in history and the real world,it’s a concept that exists in the world of ideas.As a constructed concept,it can refer to the objects related to Xia and Mohism,which has real cultural connotation and cultural significance.The related "Mo Xia" research is reasonable and necessary in the particular period,but it should be reconsidered outside of that period.
