The ubiquity and monumentality of the images that surround us today, have produced a space of virtual within which we are being absorbed. The nature of these images has become much more aggressive compared to previous periods in history. Our relationship with the image has changed. The virtuality that is created destabilizes and distorts our perception of the physical world.Under the influence of virtual, our very reality becomes virtualized. As Vilem Flusser pointed out,we ourselves become an image. In this research,I examine the nature of these images, the characteristics of the architecture they create, and our relationship to it.This research paper starts with an analysis of image architecture which became part of our everyday surroundings. As the images are in constant circulation and change, the “soft architecture” that these images create is not constant or static, but mobile and ever-changing.It is temporary. Therefore,we can speak of architecture in terms of a state. The space these images create is not a reflection of our physical world, but rather a new kind of space that should be understood in its own right. It is a new space that has emerged as the product of a technical apparatuses, and in which physical reality serves as the basis for the construction of a new model of space.Later, the focus is brought on an analysis of the architecture of images within artistic practices, particularly in media of video installations,in which,in my opinion, this question of image architecture is even more emphasized. Therefore, this research paper gives a look at the works of artists engaged in media of video installations: William Kentridge,Doug Aitken, and Isaac Julian. The works of these artists reflect the architectural feature of the image. This research is based on a review of certain literature and personal observations.
