The paper takes carpaccio’s paintings as the object of analysis. From the perspective of narrative literature and narrative painting, this paper tries to discuss the factors of the formation of the perspective of carpaccio’s panoramic painting and explore the various modes of the narrative space expression of carpaccio’s painting art.The main body of this paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter summarizes the subject of the study, capaccio and his group painting saint Ursula. The second chapter analyzes the narrative technique, pointing out that the concept of painting narrative mainly implies the content centered on "character story",and the main body and the central idea are conveyed through the character story depicted in the picture. Therefore, the narrative function of the picture is particularly important. On this basis,it is necessary to give play to narrative functions such as referential and metaphorical, continuity and instantaneity, and break the shackle of time and space. The third chapter summarizes the artistic value of carpaccio’s narrative painting, which is reflected in drawing inspiration from life and making the painting vivid and close to life.It also represents infinite space on a limited canvas, and continuous stories on a canvas. The enlightenment from the research is that in narrative painting or the expression of narrative in painting, events, characters and environment are indispensable in the plot setting of painting.Through the expression of events through the characters, the details of the characters can deepen the theme. The use of symbols and metaphors in painting can express the psychological description that is difficult to draw. The combination of continuity and instantaneity in the painting language should not only extract and summarize the typical moments, but also convey the story information to the viewers in a complete and continuous way.And break the limitation of time and space by using scenery and layout.
