With the development of the Chinese community in Malaysia,Chinese people tend to agree with host countries in politics, also on the mindset from "falling leaves" into "roots",but not too much on their national culture under the influence of other religious or national, has been kept distinct characteristics of the Chinese nation and well maintained ethnic boundary. This is largely due to the Chinese people’s great enthusiasm for traditional Chinese religion.Among them, the most prominent role of Chinese Buddhism, the number of believers also accounted for75.98% of the Chinese population. It can be seen that there is a close relationship between Chinese Buddhism and local Chinese in Malaysia. This paper studies the relationship between them from two aspects. On the one hand,by sorting out the development process of Chinese Buddhism in Malaysia and analyzing its current situation, the historical role and realistic role of local Chinese in the process of its introduction and taking root are investigated. On the other hand, this paper investigates whether Chinese Malaysians are dependent on Chinese Buddhism from the perspective of the inheritance of Chinese traditional culture and how to maintain Chinese society in Malaysia. This paper finds that the survival and development of Chinese Buddhism in Malaysia depends on the local Chinese to a great extent, while the Malaysian Chinese have a certain degree of dependence on Chinese Buddhism, and there is an interdependent relationship between the two.
