| Whether focusing on the teaching of basic knowledge and skills or the teaching of new English curriculum with three-dimensional goals,the cultivation of high school students’ thinking quality is ignored.The English Curriculum Standard for General Senior High School(2017 Edition)points out that the core literacy of English discipline mainly includes four dimensions: language ability,cultural awareness,thinking quality and learning ability,and the thinking quality reflects the mental characteristics of the core literacy of English discipline,which is one of the important goals of English teaching in senior high school.This study takes high school English reading teaching as the carrier to study the teaching activities of cultivating high school students’ thinking quality.The specific research questions are as follows:(1)what is the current situation of students’ thinking quality in senior high school English reading teaching?(2)How to optimize the design of senior high school English reading teaching activities and improve students’ thinking quality(logic thinking,critical thinking and creative thinking)? What English reading teaching activities can improve students’ thinking quality? In this study,93 senior high school students and 6 English teachers in Yinchuan were selected as the research objects,and the investigation and two rounds of teaching experiments were carried out in this class.First of all,through classroom observation,teacher interview,student interview,test and other ways,the researcher investigates and analyzes the current situation of thinking quality of the research object.Secondly,the researcher combines the problems found,optimizes the English reading teaching design under the guidance of solo theory,and explores the reading teaching activities that can effectively improve students’ thinking quality.The teaching experiment results show that teaching activities such as generalizing the general idea of the paragraph,summarizing the main idea of the article;identifyingkey words,locating relevant information have no obvious promoting effect on logical thinking,so teachers can try to analyze the content structure of the text,analyze the character quality and other reading teaching activities,through the training of analysis,inference,generalization and other abilities,so as to cultivate students’ logical thinking.Reading teaching activities such as guessing the author’s writing point of view and intention,designing opening questions,carrying out debate and other English reading teaching activities can improve the critical thinking tendency and ability of senior middle school students to a certain extent,poster and advertising language design,post reading continuation,role play and other reading teaching activities can promote the creative thinking tendency and ability of senior middle school students,and teachers can use such teaching activities to promote the development of students’ critical and creative thinking.The purpose of this study is to provide a reference for the cultivation of thinking quality in senior high school English reading teaching. |
