Multimodal Discourse Analysis Of Dating Programs

With the rapid development of digital media,the single information transmission mode of meaning expression through language has been replaced by the multi-mode composite discourse mode.The research objects of discourse analysis also gradually expand from the traditional single-language model research to multi-modal research,and begin to pay attention to the complex meaning of the co-construction of different modes such as sound,image and animation attached to the text and its influence on the overall information transmission.The matchmaking program analyzed in this paper--"China’s new matchmaking program" is a new matchmaking program,which allows guests’ parents and relatives to participate in the interaction of making friends.The dialogue between the guests,the host and the parents of alternative guests is the main reference for the selection of attractive guests.Therefore,the role of language symbols in the program is particularly critical.In addition,each guest will play a short video of personal introduction,so that the audience can have a richer understanding of the guests through visual symbols.Therefore,this paper mainly combines language symbols and visual symbols to carry out multi-modal discourse analysis of China’s new matchmaking.In addition to the introduction,the paper is divided into the following parts.The first part introduces the theory of multimodal discourse analysis.The second part is the core of this paper,which makes an overall analysis of the relationship between language symbols and visual symbols in China’s new blind date and their effects on the program from the perspective of discourse.The third part analyzes the role of multiple modes in discourse practice in China’s new blind date.The fourth part analyzes the changes of social ideology reflected in China’s new matchmaking through multiple modes.Finally,in the conclusion part,this paper summarizes the whole research and points out the limitations of this paper.This paper makes a multimodal study of "China new blind date",analyzes the role of language symbols and other multimodal forms in the blind date program,and the relationship between the modes in the program.This paper holds that in dating programs,language symbols,as the main information of programs,play the main role in promoting the progress of program process,while other multimodal forms,based on language symbols,play an important auxiliary role in supplementing,emphasizing and highlighting the information transmitted by language symbols.In "China’s new blind date",all modes work together to form a program system with clear levels and optimized structure.
