A Study On The Aesthetic Feeling Of Black And White Woodcuts

As the most basic medium,line exists in all forms of painting.In Chinese painting and western painting,although the expression forms of lines are obviously different from those of Chinese and western cultures,they are both basic means of modeling.Different lines will present different visual effects in painting,"18 lines" is a typical representative,uniform and smooth high ancient hairspring lines,strong iron lines,light and clever willow leaf lines......Each line has its own unique aesthetic value,with far-reaching significance and strong expression.In black and white woodcut printmaking,the line has a different aesthetic feeling,same as the black and white woodcut printmaking is to knife ghost form for plate making,which determines its uniqueness,so it’s portrayal of the line is different from other type,in order to solve this special art,I am different manifestations in the works of contemporary black-and-white woodcut intaglio lines are studied,mainly analyzed from three aspects: Smooth lines,cadence lines,combination lines,try to study these different forms of lines to find out the different visual effects they create in the picture,for the in-depth study of black and white woodcarving art lay a foundation,and also for my subsequent creation lay a foundation.
